Lindsay Lohan: A Changed Woman?

By Liz Kelly

Lindsay Lohan, fresh from a two-month stint in rehab, is like so changed.

I know this because LL said so in a new SUPER EXCLUSIVE post-rehab interview with OK! Magazine in which the penitent party girl says she's ready to lead a different life. Though the issue won't hit stands until Thursday, OK! is already busy flakking some tidbits -- and an EXCLUSIVE gallery of her exit from rehab -- online.

Rehab was "a sobering experience," said Lilo. "It made me look at myself and all the people, places and things in my life in a different way."

By "different way" she must mean in OK! as opposed to at TMZ.com. Because surely making a pit stop with one of the skeevier tabloids while running as fast as you can back to Los Angeles isn't necessarily the best way to kick-off a successful post-addiction program (despite her assertion that she plans to return to return to Utah to live).

Before accusing me of over-reaction, consider this: OK!, Life & Style, Us, TMZ.com, Perez Hilton and the hordes of paparazzi that swarm around Lilo (and Brit and Paris) are all the most insidious of enablers. Their own addiction, and their bottom line, is fed by the stumbles -- in the form of tipsy pix, DUI busts and head-shaving -- of "recovering" starlets like our girl Lilo. By allowing exclusive access to OK! she's already opening the door to trouble. It's as if a junkie completed six clean weeks only to return to his comfy, familiar bunk in an opium den swearing all the while that he was a changed man.

So what LL may be doing, because she doesn't know any better, is replicating the exact conditions that landed her in rehab in the first place. And despite OK!'s cheery feature on the clean and sober LL, the real payoff for the magazine may come in the form of access at some future, more "newsworthy" date.

A rep for OK! magazine, by the way, says Lohan was not paid for the interview.
