The most interesting part of the Steve-O story is that his neighbor made a citizen's arrest. I didn't know that anyone actually did that! And can you imagine trying to accost Steve-O?

Thanks, Liz Kelly, for linking the Kate Hudson diss since it included the photo of Katharine "Who" Heigl that I mentioned yesterday. She looks like SATC's Samantha "rode-hard-and-put-up-wet" Jones.

Posted by: methinks | March 4, 2008 8:26 AM | Report abuse

An Iggy Pop tribute to Madonna won't make any sense unless he does it in drag.

Posted by: MoCoSnarky | March 4, 2008 8:27 AM | Report abuse

Here's a coincidence: On THE VERY SAME DAY that Rosie says on her blog Larry should retire, Pot posts something on his blog calling Kettle black.

What are the odds?

Posted by: byoolin | March 4, 2008 8:49 AM | Report abuse

Uh, MTV still plays videos? Who knew?

Kate Hudson is my new favorite person.

Posted by: Anonymous | March 4, 2008 8:50 AM | Report abuse

Kate Hudson, star of such Oscariffic vehicles as "You, Me and Dupree"?

Weird coincidence Number Two: apparently Pot double-posted his blog item about Kettle.

Paula Abdul is exactly what the Universe had in mind the first time the phrase "straight to YouTube" was uttered.

Am I the only one that thinks that Eva Longoria looks like a wax statue from Madame Toussaints in that picture?

Posted by: u street girl | March 4, 2008 9:02 AM | Report abuse

Ack! Eva Longoria again! She's everywhere! And who the hell is she, anyway?
Didn't Kate Hudson have something done to her nose? It's like, hardly even there anymore. If it shrinks any more she'll be in the Michael Jackson Zone.

Posted by: possum | March 4, 2008 9:09 AM | Report abuse

RIP Jeff Healey. Helluva guitarist.

And shock of shocks, for once I agree with Rosie.

Posted by: 23112 | March 4, 2008 9:25 AM | Report abuse

I'm not a huge Kate Hudson fan, but she just went up a notch for me. Because I can't understand for the life of me all the buzz about Katharine Heigl. At least when Kate Hudson was the Flavor of the Month, she just sort of drifted through it, giggling and having her baby with Chris Robinson...

As for Iggy Pop - that's just fabulous. I look forward to it. Because every time I think I hate or want to dismiss Madonna, I have to remember that the first time I heard "Like A Prayer" was when I heard the John Wesley Harding cover and thought "Damn, I like that song...."

RIP, I-drink-your-milkshake. I hardly knew you.

u street girl, I thought the exact same thing.

Posted by: michael | March 4, 2008 9:36 AM | Report abuse

Larry King creeps me out.

Posted by: jes | March 4, 2008 9:44 AM | Report abuse

Seems apropriate to have Iggy introduce Madona. Somehow they both managed to survive Detroit and got out.

Sad news about Mr. Healey. Quite a loss. I just hope Eddie isn't halfeay dow nthe same path. I have a ticket for the show that was on Sunday and now is in mid-April. I hope it doesn't have to be postponed or canceled again becuase Eddie either got cancer or a bottle again.

When did MTV start playing music videos again? I thought they just aired useless reality shows about overprivleged California teens who have overelaborate Sweet 16 bday parties.

Posted by: no_bs_4me | March 4, 2008 10:24 AM | Report abuse

Second that on Larry King. Watched a couple of weeks ago when Jon Stewart was on and was wondering if Larry knew where he was.

Posted by: Anonymous | March 4, 2008 10:30 AM | Report abuse

re: milkshake..touche, KG!

Jeff Healey was a fantastic guitarist who lead a life well lived. And he MADE the movie "Road House."

Posted by: methinks | March 4, 2008 10:32 AM | Report abuse

Larry King HASN'T retired yet? Who knew! And the last time he was relevant was......

Also, ditto on the creepy comment. *shudder* He's like, vile.

I know this makes me a loser, but I kind of like Katherine Heigl. She's gorgeous and I love looking at her red-carpet photos. She hasn't worn out her welcome yet like Kate Hudson, who hasn't done anything worthwhile (entertainment wise) since "Almost Famous". But I'm sure Miz Heigl will eventually wear on me, as all celebs do after a while....

She is kinda shiny. Maybe it was warm in there.

I love the photo-montage of DDL with the milkshake (instead of the Oscar). Even as much as it has been played out, if the "Got Milk" campaign could get ahold of him for an ad-spot, it'd be pretty funny-brilliant.

Or, to see DDL on a "Seasame Street" skit to encourage kids to drink their milk. It'd come outta my nose, that's for sure.

For those that are wondering when MTV actually plays videos, they play them very, very early (or very late if you're a partier) in the AM.

The hubby gets up @ 6AM for work & that's when I see actual videos being played on MTV AND VH1.

I know it's hard to believe, but it's true.

"Kid Rock pleads not guilty to Waffle House battery charges..."

Why was he charging batteries in a Waffle House to start with?? It's not like the pancakes and sausage need three AA cells, or they won't taste right. There's some things you just don't do in the South, and charging your batteries in the middle of a family restaurant is one of them. I hope the judge throws the pink bunny with sunglasses at the fool!

Kate Hudson is my new favorite actress. Kate has had more of a career than Heigl could ever hope for and will continue to have more a career long after the Heigl thing is ditched for her diva behavior.

I want Rosie to shut up. Let's see which happens sooner -- Larry King retires, Rosie realizes no one gives a darn what she says and shuts up, or I get a you know what.

Finally, good for you Drew.

Posted by: ep | March 4, 2008 12:56 PM | Report abuse

Um, You all know that Katherine made her first movie in 1992 while Kate made her first in 1998.

'Alex and Emma' is post 'Almost Famous'
As is 'Le Divorce' and 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' and 'Raising Helen' and 'The Skeleton Key'. So I wouldn't say Kate hasn't done anything worthwhile since 2000.

If all you remember is 'Almost Famous' and 'You, Me and Dupree' then you haven't been payin attention or are just disingenuous.

Posted by: omni | March 4, 2008 1:17 PM | Report abuse

Eva L. doesn't even look human in that photo. Wax doll, anyone?

Battery in a Waffle House. Ya just don't get more redneck than that, y'all. Was Britney with him?

Posted by: Californian | March 4, 2008 1:25 PM | Report abuse

I officially don't get the milkshake joke. I heard the clip of it from the movie, I've got the context, but...and this is just a hypothetical, maybe it was so weirdly delivered and out of context that you just had to be there. Of course, until today, I thought it was from No Country For Old Men.

Posted by: 23112 | March 4, 2008 1:30 PM | Report abuse

Good grief it's amazing how clueless some of you all are. Katherine Heigl over two dozen movies and TV shows to her credit. Kate Hudson so far only 15.

"I want Rosie to shut up. Let's see which happens sooner -- Larry King retires, Rosie realizes no one gives a darn what she says and shuts up, or I get a you know what."

Let me just say, ep, that I think you *deserve* a 'you know what' whether Rosie shuts up first or Larry retires first. Frankly, you should get a 'you know whats' twice a day, every day, as long as it doesn't cause a rash.

Posted by: byoolin hopes he hasn't misinterpreted the meaning of you know what. | March 4, 2008 1:31 PM | Report abuse

I was feeling kinda blue and unentertained after ranting on the Marion Cotillard thread, but now I feel better.

And I too hope that byoolin did not misinterpret "you know what"

Thanks byoolin!

MTV is not playing that Paula Abdul video because her performance pre-SuperBowl was bad. Really bad. REALLLLLLLYYYYY bad.

Posted by: Anonymous | March 4, 2008 1:43 PM | Report abuse

Um, acting in more movies does not make one a better actor/actress. I looked at Kathrine Heigl's IMDB resume, I've actually seen some of the things she's been in and never realized it, that's how big of an impression she's made. Never seen Grey's Anatomy nor have I seen Knocked Up or 27 Dresses. That being said, I am not a fan of Kate Hudson either. Neither of them or both of them is not enough for me to go see a specific movie. Oh while I'm at it, I don't get the whole George Clooney thing either and this goes all the way back to Facts of Life.

Posted by: Anonymous | March 4, 2008 2:03 PM | Report abuse

I'm a little surprised by the K. Heigl v. K. Hudson debate. I find them interchangeable.

Posted by: still | March 4, 2008 2:19 PM | Report abuse

but what exactly did byoolin think 'you know what' was?

And to anon at 2:03 if you're going all the way back to 'Facts of Life' no wonder you don't get Clooney. You kind of have to separate any impression of him pre-1990 and start fresh.

Posted by: jes | March 4, 2008 3:03 PM | Report abuse

I thought "you know what" is the animal that cannot be named in celebritology. Evidently my mind is too clean.

Posted by: MGC | March 4, 2008 3:04 PM | Report abuse

By Jove, I think MGC is right. Go wash your mind out with filth.

Posted by: byoolin | March 4, 2008 3:17 PM | Report abuse

I'm with "Still" on the Heigl/Hudson debate. I only know who Hudson is because she is the daughter of Goldie H. and ex-wife of Chris Robinson (from the Black Crowes- one of the best southern rock bands IMHO). These two broads are of marginal talent- even their initials are the same.

I'm loathe to agree w/Rosie but Larry should hang up the suspenders already.

Posted by: plamar1031 | March 4, 2008 4:22 PM | Report abuse

as for the madonna single... you cant 'unleak' a song on the internet. c'mon people... figure it out...

Posted by: Quintilus Varus | March 4, 2008 6:08 PM | Report abuse

That Madonna song is a putrid, steamy, pile of surgical waste. She's been living in England too long if that's her idea of what passes for music. I'm not even sure it qualifies as a song -- it's just technobeat. I used to think rap was the sorriest excuse for music, but at least rappers are actually vocalizing something.

It reminds me of the joke that drunk drivers are better drivers than women because at least the drunks are trying to drive.
