Morning Mix: Partying the Comic-Con Way

Nathan Fillion. (Liz Kelly for washingtonpost.com)
At Saturday night's rooftop EW/Sci-Fi channel party, a relaxed Nathan Fillion, here to promote "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog" and his voice work in the animated "Wonder Woman" series, said he's a flat-front pants kind of guy. "The only time I go with pleats," he said, "is when I'm wearing a kilt." -- Liz
Meanwhile, "Pineapple Express's" Amber Heard arrived in full-on glamazon mode -- replete with micro-mini, sky-high heels and a gravity-defying updo. While she struck sultry poses for the assembled photographers, her publicist whisked her by the rest of us. Maybe she's all talked out? Also on the red carpet, "Chuck" stars Zachary Levi and Josh Gomez, commenting on Comic-Con's "nerd" factor, yelled in Amber's direction: "Look at that geek. Hey, your abacus is showing!" -- Liz
More Zachary Levi love: He's hilarious, super-friendly and loves "Lost." What more could you want? Other people I was happy to meet: Joss Whedon, who seemed really happy about the positive response to "Dr. Horrible." Bryan Fuller, the creator of "Pushing Daisies," a guy who just oozes positive energy. (He told me Kristen Chenoweth sang "Over the Rainbow" during yesterday's "Daisies" panel and it was "magical." Dang! And I missed it!). -- Jen

I unsuccessfully tried to grab a moment with Zach Quinto of "Heroes." I did, however, touch his arm and I can confirm this: Sylar has rock-hard biceps. Also spotted at the EW party: JJ Abrams, who shared a few words with "Lostie" Matthew Fox, who stayed sequestered in a corner and didn't walk the red carpet. Also, Rodrigo Santoro (you knew and loved him as Paolo on "Lost"!) as well as Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright from "Shaun of the Dead," "Spaced," etc. The video interview I did with those guys will appear in this space soon. -- Jen
The most important thing that happened at the party: I met "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof. And he told me he actually voted in our "Lost" Madness contest. So my circle of life is pretty much complete. -- Jen
Earlier in the day, the "Terminator," "Drag Me to Hell" and "Pineapple Express" presentations were all fantastic. -- Jen
"Harold and Kumar's" Kal Penn and John Cho gave good interview. -- Liz
On tap today:
I'll be talking with Steve Coogan and the team behind "Hamlet 2," which has been heavily promoted here at Comic-Con and as the Con comes to a close, I also hope to buy myself something geeky. This strikes me as an important rite of passage. -- Jen
I'm done with my scheduled interviews, so my plan is to check out the autograph hall again and walk the exhibit floor. Tomorrow we'll have a wrap-up of our Comic-Con 2008 experience. -- Liz
