Celebs Doing Things

By Liz Kelly

Michael Keaton checks out the bat cave. (Photo courtesy Popular-Pics.com)

A highly specific subset of Web sites focuses on pictures of celebrities doing things. I mean really specific things. For instance, the sadly not-updated-in-a-while Celebrities Playing Table Tennis or the also lapsed visual orgy that is Celebrities-Eating.com. Or, on the less flattering end of the spectrum, one can browse pix of stars not wearing makeup or this gallery of boldfaced nose pickers.

Occupying a shadow land somewhere between tabloid gawking and LOL Cats, one can easily waste a (Wednesday) morning browsing through endless galleries of celeb-glorification and/or derision. Like the Twinkie, the sites are devoid of calories, existing only to please and leave us feeling sated, yet guilty.

In that spirit, today I thought we'd compile a crowd-sourced listing of celebs riding roller coasters. Why? Just 'cuz. Be happy I didn't write about MJ again. And I wanted to.

I'll kick off the list with a few links, then ask you to do a bit of Web research to find even more pix. Without further ado:

Celebrities Riding Roller Coasters
1. Fabio (who was assaulted by a goose mid-ride)

2. Britney Spears

3. Leonardo Di Caprio (who apparently does lots of different stuff. He can also be found in the table tennis gallery.)

4. Chris Brown and Rihanna

Add your finds below...

Why do all these celebrities always get the front seat on the coaster? What gives? Next time I'm in front of Brad Pitt for the SuperDuperLouper (ha ha, like they'd wait in line, but humor me), I'm going to be all, "Sorry man, but I was here first. You and Lips can sit in the seats behind my wife and me. Just don't barf on us, OK?"

td, you may be on to something here! Perhaps celebs fear that if some private citizen sits in front of them on the roller caster and then the celeb barfs, the private citizen will gather up the effluvium and list it for auction on eBay.

Some coaster lines let you choose where you want to sit. It's been a while since I've been to Kings Dominion but I recall always choosing the line for the front seat. If I'm gonna plummet to my death, I wanna see EVERYTHING.

Comment on the seating placement --

If the celeb sits in front they're avoiding the barf b/c the liquid would definitely spray backwards - either on the person being sick or on people seated behind them. So, being in the front helps them avoid the "I just got barfed on" pic that would definitely be taken if the worst happened. But, it would not avoid the "I just got barfed on by a celeb" pic... That could still happen.

Or, maybe they just want to see everything while they plummet to their death :).

And in case anyone cares, our very own local boy on 30 Rock, Judah Friedlander, is a HUUUUGE table tennis fan.

Hmm. The invisible bicycling site is blocked at my office as pornography. I assume some of the celebs are imitating Queen's All Nude Bicycle Race.

Appropos of yesterday, next time you find yourself in LA, you'll need this:

Hey wadejg, that Celebrity Stumble site needs an NFSW. Warn us next time.

As for, "If I'm gonna plummet to my death, I wanna see EVERYTHING." -- excellent!

yellojkt, its blocked at my work now too. I saw it earlier this morning, however. Not sure why blocked now other than our computers have figured out that a site called "holytaco" can't possibly have anything to do with work. No porn, by the way.

================

Must resist urge to Google "celebrity weiner."

Most of the celebs in the no-makeup gallery look great -- obviously naturally beautiful.

On some their only problem is really bad skin (Alicia Silverstone, Rosanna Arquette, Drew Barrymore, Renee Zellweger, Victoria Beckham). Some just look really old (Calista Flockhart, Helen Hunt). And for some, there should be a NSFE (not safe for eyes) warning: Cher, Melanie Griffith, Courtney Love, Kelly Ripa ...

Interesting that Renee Z. still has the I-just-bit-into-a-lemon face even without makeup. Is her face perhaps frozen into that position?

One guess as to what will be the hearse for Oscar Mayer's funeral:

To be fair on the nose picking site, (yeah I looked.) Lilo wasn't picking her nose, she was just brushing away a little bit of white stuff by her nostril. Pam Anderson, on the otherhand, was all the way up to the first knuckle! (pic # 10)

As that wise man, Kinky "Big Dick" Friedman said,

"You can pick your nose. You can pick your friends. But you can't wipe your friends on your pants after you pick them."

Sas, Nosy, I have actually seen the Weinermobile on the highway.
