Katherine Jackson Gets Full Custody of Jackson Children

An agreement has been reached placing Michael Jackson's three children -- Prince Michael (12), Paris (11) and Blanket (7) -- in the care of his mother, 79-year-old Katherine Jackson.

Jackson lawyer L. Londell McMillan broke news of the arrangement on Thursday's CBS "Early Show"; a press release from Jackson's lawyers said the agreement will be presented on Monday to the Los Angeles Superior Court for approval.

The agreement also stipulates that Debbie Rowe, biological mother of Jackson's two eldest children, will have regular visitation accompanied by a child psychologist and that Rowe will not receive any compensation other than the spousal support she has already been receiving.

"There is no situation better for these children than for them to be raised and reared in the loving care of Mrs. Katherine Jackson," McMillan said on CBS.

Licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Andrea Bonior said in a June Celebritology piece that stability is the key to getting the Jackson kids through the loss of their father.

"That most likely means keeping them in the same place where they've lived and trying to keep as many of the same people -- friends, child care providers, and family members -- near them," said Bonior, "along with as much of their daily routine as possible."

Meanwhile, the police continue to look into the circumstances surrounding Jackson's death on June 25. The release of results from the official autopsy was delayed again today by the Los Angeles county coroner's office as the investigation focuses on personal physician Conrad Murray.

Oh good. 'Cause Katherine did such a bang-up job with her first litter.

I hope there are clauses in this agreement that address what happens to the kids when she passes on. Not that I wish her ill, but she'll have to live to 90 to see the youngest to legal majority.

Can we please stop calling the youngest child "Blanket"? His name is Prince Michael II. Not as kitchy, I know — but let's give him a modicum of consideration.

Let's hope Reeby (sp?) and some of the saner other Jackson siblings help their mother to keep Joe from exploiting those children in show biz. And, as northgs sadly points out, there need to be provisions in place NOW for a future (whether through death or illness) that might not include Katherine Jackson.

Joe Jackson and Katherine Jackson are legally married. So there is nothing that can legally keep him away from those kids. Look for the baby to be headlining in Vegas soon.

Yeah, who gets them when Katherine passes?

Michael's will names Diana Ross as the successor guardian.

Can ep or any other partners in the Lizard Island law firm tell us whether that designation overrides Joe Jackson's marital status as Katherine Jackson's spouse, in order to become successor to his wife as Michael's children's guardian, should it sadly come to that?

@jbbub: Katherine Jackson is not a dog and she did not have a litter. Michael Jackson had his problems obviously, but there are siblings who are not odd as Michael was. There are many senior moms tending to children and they have many more family members to pitch in. They need family now more than ever.

When we were drawing up our will, our lawyer specifically asked us if we wanted the spouse as well as the designee to take custody of our children. He said we had to name both, otherwise, if the named person died, the spouse would have to apply for custody.

So I think both parties have to be named. If Katherine should die, Ms. Ross gets the kids, not Joe Jackson.

News reports say that Rebbe is taking a role in helping Katherine with day-to-day care, along with nannies, cooks, etc...

"Blanket" (because that's what his dad called him and until he "Blanket" decides that he wants to be called something else, that's who he is--fortunately "we" don't get a choice in what he's called) is such a cutie. It's a good thing Debbie "the money hungry" Rowe isn't his mother and he's not being munipulated for money. Aren't we all so very concerned about Michael's children...the world would be a much better place to live if we spent more time being concerned about our own lives and childen and left others to take care and be concerned about their own...Michael's children do not below to anyone who wants to add their two cents about their upbringing in America...get a life people.

Whew.

This is certainly better than putting them up on E-bay and advertizing them as Jackson Memorabilia.
