Another day, another rat jumps off the USS Lindsay Lohan

By Liz Kelly

As regular Celebritology reader LuvLinsey would certainly agree, it's been a rough year for Lindsay Lohan: She's been confused with Donatella Versace, her acting career is all but dead in the water, her relationship with Samantha Ronson seems to be pretty much over and her dad has made a cottage industry out of selling his estranged family's private phone conversations.

And now Emmanuel Ungaro is jockeying to distance himself from Lohan's disastrous pasty-filled collection debut at October's Paris Fashion Week. The designer, who sold the Ungaro fashion house in 2005, said he had nothing to do with the deal that brought in Lohan's influence.

"Lindsay Lohan's collaboration was a disaster," said Ungaro. "I am furious but I can't do anything about it."

Ungaro told press at a film festival in Lisbon, Spain that the fashion house bearing his name "is in the process of losing its soul."

"That happens to a lot of designers," Ungaro continued. "We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls."

Emmanuel,

Take comfort that at least it's not "She by Sheree."

Homeownership is so important. Foreclosure sucks.

Lisbon is in Portugal, not Spain. Same penninsula (Iberian), different country and language....

Don't forget, LiLo has also been linked to Heath Ledger in the days before his death ... rumor has it they were seeing each other.

Gosh Liz, when you put it that way I now feel bad for making fun of Lilo. It has indeed been a bad year for her. It's especially bad when Amy Winehouse and Brittney Spears are put forth as rolemodels to emulate.

By the way cycloman, I believe he was in Lisbon at the time of his comment, but his business is in Spain? A+ for knowing your geography, however.

I too, am starting to feel a bit bad for LiLo. Barring some divine intervention, I just can't see how she has much of a future in entertainment, which leads to not being able to see how she would have much of a future in any job. She looks 20 years older than she should and doesn't seem to have any real friends or family to give her either support or a window into reality.

As for Ungaro--too bad. You signed away your integrity when you endorsed the check.

Liz Lem-Um-Kelly! Set your watch...Carrie P and Levy J start dating in 4, 3, 2.... You heard it here first.

LiLo may be down (REALLY down) but she is not out. She does have acting talent. She has proven that. If she gives up on the partying, kicks whatever substances she is abusing, and stays away from undesirable people who are doing her no good (Hello daddy!)..she has a second wind in store for her. America loves redemption and second chances..hers is very very possible.

For years, I have snickered at the totally ridiculous stuff these Paris fashion sticks wear on the runways ... clothes that look intentionally satirical, things that really no normal person would wear anywhere. So I just don't get where all this "LiLo's collection is a disaster and a joke" stuff is coming from. Just looks like par for the course to me. And I think the pasties give it a touch of class.

Lindsay Lohan has not been commissioned by the Unites States Navy, therefore she is not eligible for the USS designation. A more appropriate designation is Motor Tanker, or MT -- pronounced "Empty" -- for short.
