YAY LIZ!!!!! Congratulations! Is it weird to be so happy for someone you've never met?

Jumping out of years of lurking to say:

CONGRATS LIZ!!!!!

Octo-mom Jon Gosselin? Don't tell me the hormones are getting to you already.

I guess Cate Blanchett can't always depend on the kindness of strangers.

Apparently I should've been an artist or a photographer.

Congrats to you and Mr. Liz. We should have a Lizard baby name contest.

congrats, liz! you snuck that in there, and i almost glossed right over it!

Very sneaky, Liz! Congrats to you and Mr. Liz. Hopefully you'll be able to settle on a name faster than Tom and Gisele (hasn't it been a week?).

And best wishes to Frances Bean. She's always seemed like a nice kid and I hope she and Courtney can get through this.

Oh Liz! Wonderful pic! Congrats congrats congrats! Wishing you and your family health and happiness.

Now...do we get to find out if it is a boy or girl?

Posted by: dstu | December 15, 2009 8:43 AM | Report abuse

"Octo-mom Jon Gosselin"? All those prenatal hormones are messing with you, Liz Kelly. Congratulations, and all that. But by the time you catch up to the Duggars you'll be utterly unintelligble.

"Courtney Love loses custody of daughter." ACT NOW, Liz Kelly, and get an INSTANT BIG SISTER for little Celebritologist Jr.!

Chris Brown only *thinks* he canceled his Twitter account, but beating his computer to pieces isn't actually the same thing.

"Cate Blanchett 90 minutes late to "Streetcar" performance." Also in keeping with the public transit motif, ticket prices to the show will increase by 25 cents in January.

"30 Rock's" Grizz Chapman needs kidney transplant... Can Donaghy air ANOTHER kidney-thon?

"Keira Knightley to pose nude for artist." Any word on where "Naked Stick Figure No.1" will be displayed?

That Taylor Swift - it's just so hard to hate her. And, thanks to the restraining order, to get within 100 yards of her.

Give Tom and Gisele a break - they've only had nine months, after all, to talk about baby names. (Major sticking point: she thinks "Steely McBeam" is a cute name for a kid. He disagrees.)

"Celebritologist due in June." Needless to say, watch this space for speculation as to who the baby daddy is, whether Celebritologist Jr. was conceived naturally or in vitro, and whether Madonna, Brangelina or SJP will win the bidding war to adopt the child.

Tiger's #14: you say "cougar," he says "p[this is a family newspaper]ssy."

Liz: I've long kept from commenting b/c by the time i get around to it, the rest of the group has already made all of my points. However, today's post is the exception, b/c you can hear this enough:

CONGRATULATIONS to you and Mr. Kelly!!!!! I wish you both a healthy Hokie :)

Posted by: cee_jay3 | December 15, 2009 9:32 AM | Report abuse

Congratulation Liz Kelly & Mr. Liz. I say yes to the Friday list idea so the two of you can have a bunch of names to reject immediately. I wonder what Andy, Opie & Page will think.

Posted by: sjcpeach | December 15, 2009 9:40 AM | Report abuse

A-Rod chatting up chicks in Miami? Well, now that Tiger's in hiding, somebody has to take care of South Florida...

Stephen Colbert is on the Sports Illustrated cover... in a speedskating unitard. Here's heartfelt thanks to the WaPo.com editors who decided not to include a photo with that story!

Ashley Dupre is writing a "sex, love and relationship" advice column. First tip: always demand cash up front, it'll save you so many problems later.

Tiger Woods' older woman is interesting, but not as interesting as learning that his (and a bunch of other high-profile athletes') physician was arrested at the US-Canadian border for possession of human growth hormone and another performance-enhancing drug.

Thanks for all the best wishes! I'm totally down with a Friday List sometime soon to help Mr. Liz and I along the way to a baby name. Or we could just stick with the convention: Liz, Mr. Liz, Liz Jr..

Baby news is always good news! Congratulations, Liz and Mr. Liz. It's important to continue the snark into the next generation.

Just think of all the helpful and useful baby name suggestions we'll be providing. Really makes you glad you shared the news, huh?

(And on a non-snarky note, it's nice to see how much we Lizards love babies!)

Canada has a long tradition of making athletes better, faster and stronger through chemistry - Ben Johnson couldn't have run a 9.79 100m at the Seoul Olympics without the help of Dr. Jamie Astaphan and stanazolol.

Ben, alas, was found out, stripped of his medal, barred from racing, and subjected to The Dubin Inquiry, which led to Dr. Astaphan being outed, losing his license and eventually dying.

But don't worry about Ben: he's since bounced back, beating a horse in a race and acting as a personal trainer for Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona and for a son of Moammar Khadafi.

I bet Opie and Andy were the first to know. They always are. Eight months from now, you see them getting nervous and edgy, labor will start shortly.

Cats make great labor companions. Better than dads sometimes...

=============On to the snark=============

Of course Alex and Kate are breaking up. Tiger's left an interesting trail of broken hearts for him to pursue.

Cate Blanchett 90 minutes late to "Streetcar" performance due to traffic.
- I think Cate is on to something. If Tennesee Williams were alive today, he would have set that whole play in a minivan, stuck on I-95.

De-lurking with more congrats.

Two things: Don't let them tell you the baby's sex. The surprise at the end is so fun. (And no, it's not the same at 20 weeks.)

And, I think you posted MY sonogram pic. Really, your baby looks exactly like my baby at that age.

How much do you think US Weekly will pay for the first newborn pictures?

Posted by: WDC2 | December 15, 2009 10:25 AM | Report abuse

Congratulations Liz and Mr. Liz! Never been so giddy on a Tuesday morning! :)

We should do a friday list of baby names! TEN NAMES TO AVOID! Or ten ideas to avoid - ie: do not name your baby after a fruit, do not name your baby after a crayon... etc etc.

Or we could submit awesome names!

The baby is wonderful news to start the day with, Liz! Much better than any piece of gossip news could ever be!

And since I am a married, over-40 woman, should I be heartened that Tiger broadened his harem to include someone in my age bracket? Ummm, no, I think not!

First and foremost, best wishes to Liz & Mr. Liz. Maybe you can start advance-scheduling playdates with LTL's Little Lurker?

Nicole Kidman balks when asked about Scientology.

If she ever wants to see her first two children again, she's effectively muzzled from speaking on this topic.

Cate Blanchett 90 minutes late to "Streetcar" performance.

The article reveals that it was not because of any sort of diva temperament on Blanchett's part, but rather due to massive traffic delays precipitated (as it were) by the Northeast's early Sunday icestorm, which slowed her drive from her home in Connecticut to Manhattan for the matinee performance.

One-time Eliott Spitzer escort Ashley Dupre lands advice columnist gig.

And if any of Tiger's mistresses ever wrote to her, she'd tell them not to blab.

Posted by: Nosy_Parker | December 15, 2009 11:55 AM | Report abuse

"New Kids on the Block's Joey McIntyre welcomes second son"
"Drew Lachey and wife expecting second child"
-- Further proof that we may no longer call them "Boy" Band members.

"Nicole Kidman balks when asked about Scientology."
-- Well, c'mon, she hasn't been with Wee Tom in quite some time. It'd be like asking Liz Taylor how good Eddie Fisher was in the sack.

"Tiger Woods mistress is married 40-something (hats off to the best Tiger/cougar joke)"
-- Tiger Woods's latest endorsement: Mercury Cougar. This month, get a 2010 Cougar complete with tinted windows and ample room for your bags in the back. Find one "at the sign of the cat-ting around."

And congratulations, Liz! I suggest you call the baby Li'l Liz.

Just finished reading the comments, and it looks like Lizard Island carpenters need to get to stat now installing a nursery for Baby Mouse, Little Lurker and, a few months later, Kid Kelly.

There I was, looking at this lush field of opportunity to commenting it was soooooo cracking me up, when I came upon the almost-an-afterthought 'Celebritologist due in June'! and WHAM, it completely eliminated everything else in commanding interest.
How wonderful and delightful!!! So many congratulations to Liz and Mr Liz. This is going to be such an exciting time.
Watching the Lizardlet growing (we will get to see the rest of the ultrasounds, won't we?), choosing a name (ahem, I mean recommending how not to name), figuring out the arrival date, fussing over and advising. All your Lizards and Lurkers are dancing with joy with you, and assuming you will revel in the papparazzi like attention, just like all the A-listers. This is wonderful! Who needs the rest of the Holly-nuts when we have one of our own who needs our efforts. Yippeeeeee!!!!!!!
I join with all of us in celebrating with you and Mr Liz. This will be great fun.

Aw, that's so sweet Liz ... congratulations!!!

Keira Knightley nude? Ew. Who wants to look at a bag o' bones?

I really, really can't stand Rihanna anymore. Not sure why. I saw a risque pic of her in US magazine yesterday while waiting at the hair salon ... ugh. It's like she's trying oh so hard to be shocking.

I also read in the same US magazine that "the whole neighborhood is talking about how Elin beat Tiger's a$$."

Well, no. There's a whole list of things to follow, njacobs:

1. Guess how much weight Liz will gain.

2. Guess how many sympathy pounds Mr. Liz will gain.

3. Guess how big (in circumference) Liz's belly will be in June.

4. Guess which GOOP recipe Liz will crave the most.

5. Find the picture of Brad Pitt (or Jesus) in Liz's baby's next sonogram.

6. Find the picture of Brad Pitt (or Jesus) in Liz's stretch marks.

7. Help Liz convert to Scientology so that she can have a quiet birth.

Try to weep over a sink, njacobs. You're making a puddle on the floor. Someone could slip and fall.
