Is death the new sex tape?

Casey Johnson at an event in early December 2009. (Getty Images) Search your brains and be honest before you answer the following question: If I had asked you last Friday to tell me who Casey Johnson was, how would you have answered? My suspicion is there would have been an overwhelming chorus of "Who?" cut with a few tentative assertions about Johnson being the male heir of the Johnson & Johnson fortune. All that changed on Monday when the Web -- and soon after, TV news -- was flooded with stories about the death of Johnson, the hard-partying heiress whose most recent claim to fame was a romantic attachment to Tila Tequila, herself a D-Lister. Johnson -- so far -- is crushing the competition in today's Buzziest Celebs poll (see Morning Mix). But a week ago, only regular readers of Page Six might have kept track of Johnson's shenanigans....

Nic Cage as everyone

Nicolas Cage as Napoleon Bonaparte. (Courtesy niccageaseveryone.blogspot.com) In my dotage, I may just open a museum dedicated to fan art -- step right up to see the NSFW Britney giving birth sculpture... right this way for the the life's work of the Etch-a-Sketchist... and, through this door, St. Angelina presides over aisle no. 31. Sitting at the intersection of adoration and creativity, could there be a more perfect expression of our celebrity veneration than fan art? Fan art is a genre that keeps on giving. And, last November, the latest edition to this blossoming genre surfaced in the form of the site Nic Cage as Everyone a site which, as you'd imagine, showcases tweaked images in which Nicolas Cage -- he of the up-down movie career and killer debt -- becomes everyone from Hulk Hogan to Gandalf. And, far from running out of steam, the site's pace has only...

Here come the People's Choice Awards

Ellen DeGeneres hefts her 2009 People's Choice Award for Favorite Talk Show Host. (AP) The People's Choice Awards -- aka the awards that mean nothing but allow entertainers from movies, TV and music to self-promote and get dressed up -- are set to air tonight at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. And before you decide to forego the star-studded extravaganza, only consider that you'll be missing out on some primo entertainment. F'rinstance, hostess with the mostest Queen Latifah, the chance to see if Vin Diesel edges out Shia LaBeouf as Favorite Action Star, whether "Animal Cops" will reign supreme as Favorite Animal Show and if Charlie Sheen will rise above some recent unpleasantness to take away the award for Favorite TV Comedy Actor. And lest we forget what the night is all about, there will also be an award for (I kid you not) Favorite DiGiorgno Pizza. Have a...

In Vanity Fair, Tiger's take on black athletes, lesbians

The Tiger Woods feature splashed across the cover of February's Vanity Fair consists entirely of recycled material pulled from the deep archives. But, in light of Tiger's recent fall from grace, VF figured it was worth reminding us that the man who allegedly kept upwards of 14 mistresses on call did break character -- jumping outside his carefully crafted image -- as much as a decade ago. And since Woods has already been dumped by several sponsors and his legions of fans, why not pile on, right? Something's gotta sell print mags. (Reuters/Vanity Fair) Accompanied by pix of a topless iron-pumping Woods taken by Annie Leibovitz four years ago (and conveniently held in her archives until this moment), VF contributing editor (and author of some really good stuff) Buzz Bissinger spins a few quotes from a 1997 VF Woods interview into a loquacious feature article. In the interest of saving...

Warren Beatty, crunching the numbers

Legendary lover Warren Beatty in 1972. (AP) Warren Beatty is, of course, denying he authorized a new biography ("Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America") claiming he has had sexual relations with approximately 12,775 women. And per the advice of Beatty's attorney, the last thing we'd want to do is "repeat things from the book on the assumption that they are true or that the book is an authorized biography." That said, Beatty, until his marriage in 1992 to Annette Bening, did have a bit of a rep -- even supposedly inspiring one-time love Carly Simon to pen a song about him. But almost 13,000 women? The mind reels. And here we were wondering where Tiger Woods -- with his now totally paltry alleged mistress count of 14 -- found time to golf. I, of course, had to try to crunch the numbers; to view these women as individual encounters...
