'Lost' Weekend: Prepping for the season premiere
Ready or not, "Lost" returns for its sixth and final season Tuesday (9 - 11 p.m. ET on ABC). But, wait, where were we? For that matter, when were we?
If you haven't spent the last eight months immersing yourself in show lore, we'll find it in our hearts to forgive you. In fact, we'll even rescue you with a weekend crash course designed to get you caught up and ready to hit the ground -- or island -- running by Tuesday.
Gallery -- Where we left off: From Jack to Jin to Juliet (and all of the non-J-named characters, too), start by perusing this pictorial review that explains where the main players ended up at the close of season five.
Episodes online: Have a spare 17 hours? Watch season five from start to finish at Hulu.com. (If you've got all kinds of time, you may want to revisit season one too, as the writers have implied that knowledge of those initial "Lost" episodes may be particularly helpful in the final leg of our Dharma journey.)
Only have two hours? Then spend them watching the action- (and plot-twist) packed season five finale:
Selected recaps: If you don't have time to watch, Lostpedia maintains a meticulous collection of scene-by-scene written show recaps -- not to mention an exhaustive collection of show trivia.
The questions: Sure, the show's fun. Sawyer's hot. Hurley's a laugh riot. But what does it all mean? Sci Fi Wire compiles a list of 100 questions we want answered by season's end. Some of our faves:
-- Why does Pierre Chang use aliases?
-- Why was [Libby] a patient at Santa Rosa?
-- Why is Walt special?
-- Why did Jacob go touch each of the survivors in the past?
"Lost" Twitterverse: What's that? You want to stand in front of a firehose of constantly updating tweets from fans, bloggers and show insiders? Enter the "Lost" Twitterverse, but beware of spoilers this weekend. Some fans likely will be Tweeting madly from the season six premiere screening Saturday, to be held at sunset on the beach in Waikiki. (Luckies!) And make sure to sign up to follow our very own "Lost"-dedicated Twitter feed, where we'll undoubtedly describe -- in 140 characters or less -- how much we wish we were in Hawaii right now.
"Lost" Central: At our home for all things "Lost," read back through analyses from seasons past, plus dig into chat archives, DVD reviews and an in-depth look at "Lost's" literary leanings. (For added fun, try to count the number of times Liz expresses disdain for Kate and Jen notes that she misses Boone. We suspect the total *may* add up to 108.)
Time/Space: And if all of that isn't enough to keep you occupied, play around with this interactive time line that allows you to explore five seasons worth of "Lost," one year or character at a time.
