Tiger Woods Apology: Will Tiger join the shame hall of fame?

And so the Tiger hype machine rolls on... The Post's Paul Farhi this afternoon writes about what we should expect from Woods at Friday's press conference: [Woods's tight control of the event] means a few million TV viewers will likely see only what Woods and his managers want them to see: a contrite superstar, surrounded by friends and supporters, vowing to live up to his former image as a family man. Will it be enough to restore Woods's pre-tabloid image? And, to put things in proper historical context, Farhi also ticks off a shame hall of fame with this video review of high-profile celebrity apologies -- from David Letterman's apology for sleeping with a staffer to Jimmy Swaggart's "I have sinned against you, my lord" to Bill Clinton's "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." In case you missed it, read the transcripts of today's earlier chat with...

In a newly-released photo Tiger Woods jogs near his Florida home on Wednesday. (Getty Images) Updated 4:05 p.m. ET Update: A North Carolina radio station is claiming it has obtained the text of Tiger's prepared Friday statement. The headline in the unconfirmed text is an admission that Woods and wife Elin Nordegren have decided to separate. Not surprisingly, Team Tiger is saying the statement is absolutely false. -- 1:42 p.m. ET --- In less than 24 hours, Tiger Woods will step behind a podium at TPC Sawgrass golf course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. to speak publicly for the first time since the fall. The fall, of course, being a series of image-breaking events that began with a Thanksgiving weekend car crash followed by the emergence of at least a dozen extra-marital affairs. The location -- the PGA tour headquarters -- suggests that the event will be tightly orchestrated...

'Lost' Dueling Analysis: 'The Substitute'

This week, Jen and Liz consider the merits of an excellent Locke-centric episode. Read the analysis, then join them at 2 p.m. ET for this week's "Lost" Hour discussion and, as ever, visit "Lost" Central for the latest in show news and analysis. John Locke (Terry O'Quinn) meets European history teacher Ben Linus (Michael Emerson). (ABC) Jen: "You're so close, James. It would be such a shame to turn back now." That's what MIB-Locke said to our whiskey-buzzing Sawyer during this week's episode as he (allegedly) led him on a journey to help him understand his purpose on the island. But really, couldn't MIB have been talking to us? After last week's episode, some fans -- especially some of you vocal people who came to the 2 p.m. online chat -- expressed frustration with where the show was going. Why so much temple? Why aren't there more answers? Why...

Christina Hendricks's body of work

A corseted Hendricks shows off (some of) her assets. (New York Magazine) Christina Hendricks says she's tired of talking about her body. An interesting stance for a woman who appears corset-clad in a full body shot on the cover of this week's New York magazine. But maybe she'd do better to embrace the curve controversy spawned three years ago when she made her splashy debut as "Mad Men's" saucy office manager. Lauded by most as sexy, voluptuous and a welcome break from Hollywood's stick figure Barbie army, Hendricks has also faced some less charitable scrutiny -- one vitriolic New York Times writer endorsed a stylist's declaration that Hendricks is a "big girl." In the interview accompanying her New York corset spread, Hendricks laments the fact that her curves may have overshadowed her work on "Mad Men": "I was working my butt off on the show, and then all anyone...
