Celebs mourn the loss of Alexander McQueen

By Jen Chaney
Friday

Headlines: Designer Alexander McQueen dies; Sarah Jessica Parker expresses her sorrow; other celebrities offer condolences on Twitter... Alec Baldwin allegedly blows up at photographer after return from hospital... Dennis Hopper's wife agrees to stay at least 10 feet away from him (and happy Valentine's Day to you)... In other restraining order news, the one keeping Courtney Love from daughter Frances Bean Cobain has been extended... Friends, family remember Natasha Richardson at amfAR Gala... While filming "Terminator," Christian Bale apparently rented house where dead body was buried, unbeknownst to him.

Off and On:
Several of your fave TV shows -- "24," "Chuck," "Heroes" -- are on the endangered list and could be off the air next season... The movie adaptation of "Breaking Dawn"? It's on. In fact, it's on, squared.

Dept. of totally awesome valentines: You could give this Han Solo one. Or maybe one of these "Jersey Shore" cards. But personally, I like the "Lost" valentines (found via Pop Candy), particularly the John Locke option: "Don't Tell Me What I Can't Do! With My Love for You!"

Sarah Jessica Parker expresses her sorrow...but then someone gave her some sugar cubes and she was better.

In other restraining order news, the one keeping Courtney Love from daughter Frances Bean Cobain has been extended...Can I get in on that restraining order?

"Dennis Hopper's wife agrees to stay at least 10 feet away from him." On the plus side, this pretty much forces the hospital to upgrade him to a bigger room.

I wonder how long it will be before the distance in the restraining order is reduced to 6 feet.

FYI, the linked SJP story contains a link to a good photo gallery of McQueen's creations for various red carpets. It'll be very interesting to see who turns up at the Oscars wearing him this year. RIP.

Sure, Christian Bale, whatever you say.

The Han Solo valentine is pure geek awesomeness.

"Alec Baldwin allegedly blows up at photographer after return from hospital" -- Judging from his size these days, blow ups are a regular thing with him.

"Christian Bale apparently rented house where dead body was buried, unbeknownst to him." -- That wasn't a dead body, that was his career at the time. He was hoping those DVDs of "Newsies" and "Swing Kids" would stay buried.

Northgs, I am pretty sure it is against the law to wear a body to an awards show. Goodness knows if there weren't a law who some celebrities would wear.

Courtney Love protective order extended -- to pretty much everyone who realizes that she is bat guano crazy.

How desparate is Christian Bale for publicity that THIS story gets out?

Loved the Ben Linus valentine, although more for the artwork than the text. Surprised there wasn't one for Sawyer.

I'd like a poster of that Han Solo valentine. Sweet.

In light of the tributes to Natasha Richardson, I'll send Friday love to Liam Neeson. And I'll be happy to personally deliver that love....

I agree, jaybbub, the tributes to Natasha were beautiful, and depicted a lovely person.

northgs, I know.

Drat! can't see the Lost Valentines but since there isn't a Shirtless Sawyer asking to be my Valentine, guess it doesn't matter much, does it?

I loved Chuck for Adam Baldwin, but a week following his Twitter feed has turned me off him and the show. What a jerk.

24's really is trouble? The show stinks this year, but that still surprises me.

Speaking of things not long for this world, the utterly skanquey Hailey Glassman tells equally skanquey Steppin' Out magazine some unflattering things about Jon Gosselin, using phrases like "tiny, tiny, tiny," and
"like a nine-year-old boy."

Bonus: her cover photo bears the words, "Judge This Haters!" [sic]. Be sure to bleach your eyes and gouge them out *before* viewing.

Oh byoolin, come on, the pic of Hailey Glassman can't be that...oh my god! KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!

And in today's Rumor Mill, Renee Zellweger ate a peanut and the pregnancy rumors have started!

Hmm, can't decide what's creepier, Christian Bale or a dead body in the backyard.

Second that love to Liam Neeson, their sons and the Richardson family.

Byoolin, I think that interview leaves out a very important piece of information. How in the world does Ms. Glassman know the size of a nine-year old boy's anything?

Posted by: epjd | February 12, 2010 1:45 PM | Report abuse

ep, it's always possible she had a brother.

YIKES!!! Are you guys sure that's Hailey Glassman and not a crossdressing "Breakfast Club"-era Judd Nelson?

Posted by: northgs | February 12, 2010 2:19 PM | Report abuse

The Hailey Glassman foto doesn't phase me.

Why?

Because late last night I was watching this:

John Lithgow as Meryl Streep is less scary than Hailey Glassman as a tranny Judd Nelson.

Posted by: northgs | February 12, 2010 3:17 PM | Report abuse

You all are so funny. Hailey Glassman as a "tranny Ju---- WHOA.

That's EXACTLY what she looks like.

Perhaps at one point she WAS a nine-year-old boy....

Psst, Dorkus and Producer Paul. Here's the link to the transcript of that interview re "A View From the Bridge" with ScarJo:
Schreiber, Johansson Build A 'Bridge' To A Classic

Hope this brightens your otherwise snowy respective weekends in Texas and DC.
