And last, but hardly least, some happy news from Celebritology: I am thrilled to report that our Liz Kelly and her husband, Mr. Liz, welcomed a baby boy into the world over the weekend. Desmond Clyde Nelson was born on Saturday, weighing in at 8 lbs., 12 oz., and measuring 20 inches long. I know all the Celebritology readers join me in wishing Liz the warmest of congratulations. (And yes, to whoever guessed during last week's Celebritology chat that she would name the kid Desmond: you win.)

"Chris Brown pays emotional tribute to Michael Jackson during BET Awards"

Especially emotional for the women in the audience when he covered "Beat It"

"Jon Gosselin reportedly gets massive tattoo of dragon etched on his back."

It's actually part of his idea get permanent Ed Hardy clothing tattoos.

Congrats to the entire Liz family.

Lizards, I realized that we have been remiss in our duties. We really should have gotten something for baby Desmond. Jen has kindly agreed to help us out once we figure out what we want to get. So, suggestions are welcome. What shall be the official Lizard Island baby gift?

"Lawyer for Mel Gibson denies allegations that Gibson punched ex Oksana Grigorieva"

Is Mel gonna blame the allegations on the Jews?

Congrats to Liz, Mr. Liz, and Auntie Jen! Can't wait to hear if Desmond's first words are spoken with an Irish accent!

Happy Babying to Liz, Mr. Liz and Baby D! Many blessings go out to all (and that includes the proud pets, Andy, Opie and Page).

I wonder how long Liz will wait to get the tot his first tattoo. Disgusting. People like that should not be allowed to procreate.

Congrats to Liz & Mr. Liz. Of course, there's no time to rest now: Desmond's going to need someone to call 'brother.'

"Prince Harry fights off the ladies at Polo Classic." That's the trouble with Harry: being royalty, he has to behave. The other guys are free to get in a few chukkers.

Sofia Coppola copy-cats Liz Kelly? Classy.

Dammit. Previous comment has left me with no adjective for Jon Gosselin.

"Kevin Spacey joins cast of 'Horrible Bosses'": more horrible than Keyser Soze or Buddy Ackerman?

If Twitter and Facebook campaigns are anything to go by, the Spider-Man shortlist includes two names: Don Glover and Betty White.

"Introducing the cassette tape wristwatch, which seems cool, unless you want to easily be able to determine what time it is." Or when something goes wrong and your watch eats the time and spits it out in a tangled, garbled mess. You'd have thought they'd learned their lesson with the 8-track pocket watch debacle.

Congrats to the Lizzes. Someone really picked Desmond in the "guess the name" contest??? You guys (the lizzards)are really good!

Lawyer for Mel Gibson denies allegations that Gibson punched ex Oksana Grigorieva...If anything. Mel is a headbutt kind of guy anyways.

I'm so happy that Jon Gosselin have finally finished his transition to full on d-bag.

At the risk of feeding the troll, vwoobah3803, don't worry, I've got a couple of tattoos myself and there's a good chance that I'll never procreate.

Maybe we should all pitch in and start a tattoo fund for the lil' Lizard. You know, something tasteful, like the Hanso Corporation logo.

But congrats Mr. and Mrs Liz!

I suspect that when the time comes, children of this generation's inked parents will refuse to get tattoos, just as a way of rejecting parental values ;-)

Posted by: Nosy_Parker | June 28, 2010 10:11 AM | Report abuse

Congrats to Liz and Mr. Liz :)

But perhaps may I suggest removing the last name from the post? Google cache does seem to live forever, and having your full name, birthday, and easily determined parents is not something we want to give the little tyke as a birthday present :D

Posted by: Chasmosaur1 | June 28, 2010 10:13 AM | Report abuse

Wow! That's one huge kid! Congrats to the whole family.

Because I have some spare change to spend on troll biscuits...

Vwoobah3803, you seem to have a moral objection to tattoos. Perhaps you could point out the relevant passage in the appropriate religious or philosophical text that forms the basis for your objection? No? Well, thanks for playing.

Congrats to Liz and Mr. Liz, and welcome Baby D! It's a strange and wonderful world out here - you can ask your mother just how strange, one of these days - and we're glad to have you in it.

Congrats to Mr and Mrs Liz and little Des. I like the name and I am not even one of the Losties... Well Done!

As a gift might I suggest a life time subscription to TigerBeat, Bop and Entertainment Weekly??? But seriously, how about a pop cultural time capsule for the day/week he was born??? Seems only fitting...

Posted by: LTL1 | June 28, 2010 10:49 AM | Report abuse

Congrats Mr & Mrs Liz on Desmond!! I'm sure LindeCuse would be proud!

From that Gosselien tattoo article:
"He has been actively exploring ways to better his life..."

How about dropping out & getting a real job for starters?

Posted by: wadejg | June 28, 2010 10:53 AM | Report abuse

One wonders where on the list of Things To Do To Better One's Life does the advice "Get a giant dragon tattoo on your back" appears.

I assume it's somewhere after wade's advice to get a real job, but somewhere before "enter a competitive eating contest" or "try BASE jumping."

Actually byoolin, in Jon's case, I'd whole heartedly recommend base jumping. But you know, without a parachute.

Posted by: DorkusMaximus1 | June 28, 2010 11:41 AM | Report abuse

Well, byoolin, presumably at least Jon Gosselin didn't go to Toronto to demonstrate during the G-20.

Posted by: Nosy_Parker | June 28, 2010 11:42 AM | Report abuse

I guessed his name, that was me - YAY! Oh, and congrats to the happy family, of course.

Posted by: duhneese | June 28, 2010 11:43 AM | Report abuse

1) Hooray for baby Desmond!!!!

2) I'm guessing that the purpose of Jon Gosselin's giant dragon tattoo is to keep him Ed Hardy-ed when all of his Ed Hardy shirts are in the wash.

Desmond! Great name and I'm so happy for Liz. :) Epjd, how are you setting the gift up?

Posted by: Guest1234 | June 28, 2010 1:05 PM | Report abuse

"What shall be the official Lizard Island baby gift?"

A stuffed lizard? A lizard mobile to hang over the crib? :o)

Warmest wishes to the whole family!! Welcome to the world, Desmond. Not everybody gets to arrive with a fan club already intact.

Either Baby Desmond will grow up to be a herpetologist, or else require years of intensive psychotherapy.
