Comic-Con 2010: 'Big Bang Theory,' 'Green Hornet' and more highlights of day two schedule
The schedule for the second day of Comic-Con -- Friday, July 23 -- was released earlier today. Here's a partial list of the key panels and presentations of interest to the Celebritology universe.
"Hawaii Five-O" -- 10:15 a.m. in Room 6BCF: The actor formerly known as Jin on "Lost," Daniel Dae Kim, will appear alongside executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Peter M. Lenkov, among others, to provide a sneak peek at the reimagined cops-in-paradise series, premiering this fall on CBS.
"The Big Bang Theory" -- 12:45 p.m. in Ballroom 20: Think a show about nerds attracts the attention of the Comic-Con crowd? Don't answer -- that was purely a rhetorical question. Wil Wheaton moderates this discussion with sitcom stars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and others.
"Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" -- 2:15 p.m. in Hall H: Guillermo del Toro and director Troy Nixey will provide a sneak peek at this haunted-mansion horror show. It doesn't sound as though stars Katie Holmes or Guy Pearce. But after stepping down from his "Hobbit" gig, del Toro promised to reveal his next project at Comic-Con. This panel could be the place where he does it.
The Joss Whedon Experience -- 3 p.m. in Ballroom 20: Didn't get enough Whedon during Thursday's panel with J.J. Abrams? Then load up on some more when the father of "Dollhouse" and "Buffy" gets 45 minutes all to himself.
"Terra Nova" -- 3:30 p.m. in Room 6A: A sneak peek at Fox's prehistoric series from Steven Spielberg, presented by star Jason Mara, executive producers Brannon Braga and David Fury and director Alex Graves.
Entertainment Weekly: Girls Who Kick Ass -- 4 p.m. in Ballroom 20: A look at gutsy, superheroic chicks, from the perspective of gutsy, superheroic chicks like Jena Malone ("Sucker Punch") and Chloe Moretz ("Kick-Ass"), among others. Expect a big 'ol round of whoops for Hit Girl.
Sony's: "The Other Guys" and "The Green Hornet" -- 4 p.m. in Hall H: First Sony will trot out the stars of its buddy comedy spoof -- Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Eva Mendes -- then they'll bring out the "Hornet" crew, including Seth Rogen, Christoph Waltz and Michel Gondry.
"True Blood" -- 5:15 p.m. in Ballroom 20: With no "Twilight" panel this year, these are the highest-profile vampires you're going to get at this year's Comic-Con. And yes, I'm counting the cast of the third "Lost Boys" movie. Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Nelsan Ellis and Sam Trammell are among the cast members expected.
