Mel Gibson: Yet another audio tape, yet another slur

By Jen Chaney

Another Mel Gibson audio tape has been released by Radar Online. Wow, Gibson has a little franchise going here, doesn't he? Perhaps entitled "The Passion of the Crazy"?

Mel Gibson, keeping that mouth wide open. (AP)

Once again, like the first audio recording that was released, as well as the second, this has not been authenticated.

If it is legitimate and that is indeed Gibson's voice screaming at ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, this recording includes Gibson's use of the derogatory term wetback to describe an employee who cares for the couple's daughter.

Other gems from the tape:

"You're a [bleeping], using whore. Now I own you."

and

"Your logic sucks because you're a [bleeping] mentally deprived idiot."

Grigorieva, not to be outdone, also talks about how Gibson owns both her liver and her kidneys.

Anyone feel like the sequels in this Gibson audio trilogy are not quite as solid as the first one? I mean, that one -- with its colossally inappropriate mixture of racist comments and references to rape -- was just so original.

Mel Gibson, in what PR folks are calling a terrible decision, is going to produce, direct, star and self-finance Braveheart 2: The Jews and Blacks Storm Malibu.

Read this hilarious article about the movie.

VERY FUNNY.

Mel Gibson is a very close personal friend of mine, a warm and wonderful man who just happens to like to drink furniture polish every once in a while to help him relax.

Does it affect his personality? Perhaps. Does it lead to vulgarity and uncharitable characterizations? Sanctimonious reviewers might conclude in the affirmative. But he's still much, much nicer to Oksana than he was to the three hitchhikers buried out by the pool.

Mel Gibson is another O.J. Simpson.

Mel needs to be stopped immediately before he hurts her, and ends up in a slow speed chase.

It's probably nearly impossible to do, but somebody needs to let these celebrities know that when somebody tells you "the world is yours" that DOES NOT include threatening and/or murdering somebody.

Get a grip Mel, before you end up like O.J., doing life.

The only truth is that he really is a good actor/director. Everything else is just marketing, who can say if it is really happening

It is totally captivating to tune into more of his rant each day. I'm addicted!!! There is supposed to be new information on Mel tonight on the show "Issues." Issues was one of the first to cover this recording with radar. They have something more tonight.

What a bore he is and what nonsense he spouts AND why are women reproducing with this scum.

Jen, thanks for reminding everyone these are not authenticated and are only portions of the total conversations. I do family law. People get emotional and go off the deep end. Often times because the other person is also getting emotional and going off the deep end. We don't know what Oksana said before his rants begin.

Not excusing it. As I tell my clients, don't engage. Good god, they both have lawyers. Just talk through them. Then we'll really hear some rants.

ep, is there some point beyond which Mel's rants are so dire (e.g., threats, references to past bad acts) that it no longer really matters what the other person said? I gather that when there's a threat of harm, then laws against recording secretly no longer hold. Is that correct?

Thanks, egengle. California law doesn't indicate, e.g., whether there's an exception for threat of violence. Also, what if Mel could SEE that Oksana was recording their, ahem, conversation?
