50 Cent drops words of wisdom on Twitter

By Jen Chaney

By now, you've probably heard all about 50 Cent's recent adventures in Twitter -- his takeover of tweeting duties from his management company; his use of ridiculously foul language; his decision to tweet a photo of a woman's backside that he compared to both Kim Kardashian and a hamburger, causing his Twitpics account to be briefly suspended; and, of course, his refusal to do chores for his grandmother. It all makes Kanye West's forays into Twitterdom seem decidedly quaint.

(Go ahead. Try pairing some of 50 Cent's gems with New Yorker cartoons. I'll wait.)

Mr. Curtis Jackson III -- whose account, by the way, has not been hacked, based on Boing Boing's confirmation -- has taken a brief pause from tweeting, but promises to resume at noon tomorrow. This announcement was made courtesy of a pic of 50's head Photoshopped onto an image of Osama bin Laden. In other words, it's going to continue to get all crazy up in Twitter.

Do we think 50 Cent genuinely is tweeting this stuff? Or is one of his PR people doing it in the guise of actually being 50 Cent? Or -- ooh, even better -- is Joaquin Phoenix tweeting as 50 Cent just to make his allegedly real pursuit of a hip-hop career that much more bizarre?

It's unclear. But before you begin your weekend, do take the time to ponder a few tweeted words of wisdom from the new, probably temporary King of Twitter (sorry, Kanye).

"I really don't like when people call me crazy I'm not crazy I'm special and I don't wish bad on anyone. Learn to love me"

"You know one day I might wanna run for president like wyclef I must stop using such profanity. Then again [bleep] that"

"I can't believe my grand mothers making me take Out the garbage I'm rich [bleep] this I'm going home I don't need this [bleep]"

And the tweet that marked his illustrious debut:

"I just busted my [bleep] comin down the steps in the gym...I'm glad nobody saw that [bleep]"
