Mel Gibson gets into minor car collision

Mel Gibson appears to have gotten this week -- a week in which he may give his deposition in his contentious custody case with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva -- off to a bad start.
TMZ is reporting that the actor, who most recently starred in a nonstop barrage of rage-filled audio tapes, got into a minor car accident Sunday. Gibson ran his 2008 Maserati off the road and into a rocky hillside while driving in Malibu at approximately 8:35 PST. His car was towed from the scene, according to a police report, and a friend gave him a ride home. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
In other Gibson-related news, a potential witness to Gibson's alleged abusive behavior has died. A nanny who worked for Gibson and Grigorieva, and who was described by Gibson in derogatory and offensive terms in one of those aforementioned tapes, died over the weekend after a long struggle with cancer, according to Radar Online.

You'd think that all the anti-Semitic-, abusive-, and alcohol-related attention Mel is getting would be enough for him. But no, now he has to get into George Michael territory by having a car crash (what's next, restroom entrapment?). Mel is a one-man tabloid these days. Honestly, where does the man find the TIME?
