Report: Steven Tyler confirmed for 'American Idol'

Updated: Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton confirms that Tyler will be a judge on "American Idol," to the Star-Ledger. "Steven is doing 'American Idol.' The ink is dry on that," Hamilton told the New Jersey paper.
E Online! is reporting that Steven Tyler -- frontman for Aerosmith, father of Liv and owner of the second-most-famous pair of lips in rock history -- is officially onboard as an "American Idol" judge.
While Fox has not officially confirmed the news, E! cites a "very-inside music source" who says a deal was finalized last week. Also finalized as a result: the total and complete selling-out of the Aerosmith name. (I know, I know, some say that already happened at least 20 years ago.)
Of course, another chair on the "American Idol" judges panel, aka the Cheesy Pop Cabinet, still needs to be filled. No word yet on who will win that coveted spot next to Mr. "Yo, Dawg" and Mr. "Backstage Boogie Set Your Pants on Fire."

Actually, it's Steven Tyler "selling out the Aerosmith name," the band isn't involved. From articles I've read in the guitar and music press, the band ain't to happy and plans on moving forward as he works on "Brand: Tyler."

LiLo would provide more entertainment - and drama. What is wrong with Fox - other than the obvious?

She'll be too busy doing $1M post-jail interviews and concocting her next drama.

Aerosmith sold out somewhere between "Walk This Way" and "Walk This Way: Featuring Run DMC." I believe Reagan was president when it happened.
Steven Tyler is a great choice; someone who is talented and successful and actually knows the business having been in it for 40 years.
So for Judge Number 3, we need his polar opposite (I put Randy to the side in his own category). Less talented, less successful, later to the music business for a young perspective, a woman to balance out the two men. Lindsay Lohan!
