While Gaga appreciates the awards, we all know she wouldn't be caught dead dressed like those Moonmen.

"Taylor Swift forgives Kanye West via song while West pays tribute to the "[bleep]bags" during his performance." And once again, the phrase "stay classy" has very different meanings depending on whether you're talking to Ms. Swift or Mr. West.

Future News: The next person to stay in that Costa Rican prison cell reports that it now smells "like Spencer Pratt's soiled undergarments, baby oil, and the bodily fluids of unidentified second, third, fourth and fifth parties."

"Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth reportedly back together." Good news for those who wish for happiness for Miley. Those wishing the same for Liam, however, are SOL.

"Final season of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" begins today." SPOILER ALERT: Steadman opens the shower door to find Oprah there; turns out last season was just a dream.

RIP Kevin McCarthy: Dude was 96. First film role in 1944, last film role this year. Not many people have a 66-year career.

Lady Gaga colors her hair gray to look older. Cher colors her hair black to look younger.

No news here, let's move along!

Oh, WAIT, Kayne didn't make a total a$$ of himself, maybe there is news.

Byoo,

Hmmmmmmm. Does this mean Wee Tom didn't jump on the couch after all?

The best news today is that about Spencer being in jail in Costa Rica. Unless their penal system is COMPLETELY different than ours, you are in jail when you are arrested, not prison. Prison comes after you get convicted. But maybe they are on a "Fast Track" system.

Can we do a Friday List of Celebs (besides Justin Bieber of course) that we would like to hear are in a Latin American jail?

And where is the gallery on the VMA red carpet? Or the gallery of just Lady Gaga in her verious costumes?

Dang, reddragon1, it would be easier to do a list of those who don't belong in jail!

I have to say that Katy Perry's dress is pretty hawt, I may have a girl crush on her. I mean yes it is rather daring but MTV awards would be the place for that.

elias, here in arizona, land of the whatever these days, you can be in jail after a conviction. in the past, i've had a client or two get convicted of some sort of nonsense and get sent to the county jail or in some instances, the infamous and horrible tent city to serve out the sentence.

Why is MTV still doling out Video Music Awards when music videos have not been a significant part of its programming for about 15 years? It makes no more sense than having Kirstie Alley shill for Weight Watchers.

ABC has been hyping Oprah's last season like there's no tomorrow. Isn't she just moving to cable and will probably be doing pretty much the same thing?
I'm guessing Oprah will be phoning it in this year, giving her time to focus on the Oprah Network.

When I read "Zac Efron, trying on a beard for size" I must admit, something completely different than what is featured in the photo came to mind.

frieda, maybe the rule of law deteriorates the further South you go.

"Final season of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' begins today" -- Making Naomi Judd's years-long farewell tour seem like a day by comparison. Wake me up when Bette Midler sings.

"Sofia Coppola wins top prize at the Venice Film Festival for 'Somewhere,'" -- An acting award? HA HA HA I crack myself up. I hope "Somewhere" is peppier than "Lost in My Navel" (y'know, that Bill Murray / ScarJo film).

"Spencer Pratt arrested in Costa Rica for firearms possession" -- I can just imagine the wheels turning in his head when given the charge. "Firearms? No no, this is a GUN. See, there's no 'fire' in it."

"Zac Efron, trying on a beard for size." -- Operative word "trying." (I feel your pain, Zac, but, seriously, shave.) Anyway, forget the unfortunate attempt at scruff, get a load of those eyebrows. It's like someone ran across his face with a brown Sharpie.

Spencer was booked at a local jail and then released? No no no, can someone please get in touch with the Costa Rican authorities and get them to reconsider? I mean, he's a menace to society, clearly, and he was illegally poaching if he used those weapons to eat, and I'm sure we can come up with a few more charges related to his being "outrageous and infantile"...sigh...it's a swing and a missed opportunity to be rid of him, dammit.

Actually, "prison" and "jail" are just names. you can be incarcerated in any of those types of facilities upon arrest and after conviction. In New Orleans, at least pre-Katrina, if you were arrested and incarcerated, you went New Orleans Parish Prison and that's where you stayed if your sentence was a short one. Long timers went somewhere else like Angola State Prison. Other than holding cells, New Orleans didn't have a "jail."

In the lovely town where I now live, the incareration facility is officially known as the County Sheriff's Office although the populace does call it "The Jail." City police do not have any type of incarceration facility at all...

I can't hellp but think that Spencer was not living off the land as he states, but living off of room service.

sorry for the long semantic post... spent the morning in court in hearing with a crazy, conspiracy-theory nut for a pro se defendant. I think that has broken some essential part of me.

Also, which ever type of jail Pratt was in, they should have kept him there. What a shame.

VaLGaL, My impression of Costa Rica is that they're a sufficiently sane nation that they might just put Spencer on a plane with a one-way ticket out, and place a bar on his ever re-entering. Not that I'd blame them (ofcourse we don't want him back, either).

Frieda, any word on Frankie the Wonder Dog's test results? Hope she's resting comfortably following her bodily indignity last week.
