Strutting Leo DiCaprio meme hits warp speed

By Liz Kelly

The photo that launched a thousand parodies. Download the .png template from Tumblr to create your own.

Somehow in all the excitement of returning to work last week, I missed the "Strutting Leo" phenom. This is incredibly important. You'll probably want to recommend this post to your Facebook friends and even perhaps take the time to explain it to your mother and/or other equally Internet-meme-clueless acquaintances.

So here's the deal: A photo of a gleeful marching Leonardo DiCaprio from the set of "Inception" was discovered and, like Sad Keanu did last spring, the shot inspired a flurry of creative PhotoShopping -- inserting DiCaprio in everything from a Thirty Seconds to Mars video still to your rearview mirror.

After the jump: The "Leo Strut" viral video ...

Most of these incongruously funny creations are collected here on the [Expletive] Yeah Strutting Leo (Yes, that link will take you to a page with the F-word prominently displayed in large, clear type that your boss would spot from across the office) Tumblr page. There is also a Strutting Leo Facebook fan page, which has 3,752 fans and comments like "This page makes my life worthwhile." Meanwhile, the Celebritology page has 923 fans and comments like "Ugh."

But wait, there's more.

The "Leo Strut" rap from self-described "viral Rapper" Jay Kila:

You put your elbow up tight, take a step with the right
Tilt your head to side, smile real real wide

Happy Monday.

UPDATE: Thanks to sometime Celebritologist Sarah Ann Hughes for pointing out this Vulture interview in which Keanu Reeves learns about the actual scope of the Sad Keanu meme.
