Randy and Evi Quaid miss court date (again); Brad Pitt to play mob boss in 'Cogan's Trade'

By Jen Chaney and Liz Kelly

Celebrity Beat: Randy and Evi Quaid, yet again, fail to appear in court... Demi Lovato's dad (a budding Michael Lohan?) tells Radar Online the pressures of Hollywood got to his daughter... "Harry Potter's" Emma Watson "shocked" that she's worth $32 million... Kiefer Sutherland set to make Broadway debut in "That Championship Season"... Bethenny Frankel and Sean Young to join Vince Neil on "Skating with the Stars"... "Ugly Betty" producer Salma Hayek plans to adapt Argentinian series for ABC... Burglars make off with two laptops belonging to Keira Knightley.

Rumor Mill: New couple Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal spend Halloween weekend swimming, eating ice cream... Kate Middleton's parents join Prince William for shooting weekend at Balmoral, so obviously a (shotgun) wedding can't be far off... Christina Aguilera paid $1 million to perform at private Halloween party.

Pop Culture Mix: Brad Pitt to play mob boss and reteam with "Assassination of Jesse James" director Andrew Dominik for "Cogan's Trade"... Aaron Sorkin writing Houdini musical for Hugh Jackman... Mashing up "Mad Men" with various movie posters.

Video: The latest trailer for "Gulliver's Travels"...

Say What?
"I think parents need to beat the crap out of their kids. I think the whole spanking thing and how it’s all gotten PC is for the birds." -- Pink

Here's a tip: If you're in America and Randy and Evi Quaid have an appointment to see you anytime in the next few months, you can probably free up that time slot.

Rumor mill is wrong: new couples like SwiGy traditionally spend Halloween weekend shagging themselves rotten.

"Christina Aguilera paid $1 million to perform at private Halloween party." I'd have done it for $25, but as the tender said, "lowest or any bid not necessarily accepted."

An Aaron Sorkin musical will make Gilbert & Sullivan tunes seem laconic by comparison.

Is there any other outdated-by-fifty-years advice you want to give us, Pink?

Just gonna get this out of the way here, if Pink wants to spank someone, I'll volunteer to take one for the team.

Jake, that beard is looking pretty good. Also, nice facial hair.

Christina Aguilera paid $1 million to perform at private Halloween party.
-That's probably the amount of money she'd have to give me before I agree to listen to her songs.

Liz, you forgot to include adverb "only" in your headline that Emma Watson is worth $32 million.

Hmmm....she could pay $1 million to Christina Aguilera to perform -- or better yet, to stay silent -- and not even notice.

Will Kiefer Sutherland perform on Broadway with his pants around his ankles?

And while we're on the subject of pantless people, I look forward to watching Keira Knightly's sex videos when they are posted to YouTube from her stolen laptops.

Finally, I see that Salma Hayek is as hot as ever. But she's been very naughty. She needs a good spanking.

Are you sure that's video from Gulliver's Travels and not a group of concerned citizens trying to prevent another Jack Black movie?

Hey, that article said Christina "performed" it didn't say she sang a note so maybe all that Dirty/Burlesque stuff is finally paying off!

What? No item about Bret Michaels being responsible for the Cyrus divorce? Please don't make me source my own celebrity gossip. It's too much work and you all do it much better than I.

Okay, sorry, folks. Didn't look at previous entries, so I had missed the Rumor Mill coverage of this hot topic.

Ice cream, how cute! I guess when you're date is too young to take out for a drink, hot chocolate and froyo seem like a good idea.

MsFitz, he's probably telling her about all the cool things to do as a kid in the 80s.

I'd also like to point out that while the Comments are showing up when you hit the Comments, there's no number of comments showing up.

Usually it's listed as "Comments (6)" or whatever number of comments there happens to be at that time, but all I've seen for the last 2 days is "Comments."

Congratulations, Emma Watson: when you're worth $32M and don't even notice, you can skip Economics 101 and go straight to Finance.

SwiGy's weekend activities sounds like a couple of giggly little girls together. 'Course, she is only just out of diapers, so ...

The excesses of that Brandes guy who hired Xtina, are pretty well-known in this village we call San Diego.

Cali, remember that Elton John played the Rush Limbaugh wedding gig for $1 million too. Perhaps that's the going fee for selling one's soul artistically nowadays.
