Rumor Mill: Prince William and Kate Middleton to wed in 2011

By Liz Kelly

Prince William and longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton will marry in 2011, Us Weekly is breathlessly reporting on the Web and in the magazine's latest issue.

The report sends rumors of the couple's impending nuptials into hyperdrive after Tuesday's report that the couple was inching closer to an engagement. Among the evidence: Kate's wardrobe, which includes pieces made by a designer who also crafts wedding gowns.

An unnamed source tells Us that the engagement will be announced in 2011 and, intriguingly, that the couple made a secret pact to marry three years ago while on vacation in the Seychelles. A secret so well kept that we've all been waiting for the announcement for, coincidentally, about three years.

The last time Kate and Wills engagement rumors reached this level of hype was back in June when royal watchers were convinced a question popping was imminent because two days were reportedly blocked out in palace diaries.

Prince William seems to have been under enormous pressure to stay with Kate and to marry her. He's been with her so long that he does not know any different. I don't have a good feeling about their marriage.

@Johnsmith6 -- there are many who agree with you. She was not raised for this, she has never even had a job or been out in the world on her own. She doesn't pay bills, has NO income, etc. She reminds me of Marie Antoinette or Katherine Howard. If this ever goes through it will no doubt ruin what is left of the 'monarchy' as not everyone wants to see a 'commoner' on the throne especially of the United Kingdom. It is sad.. he never really dated anyone else and has been attached to her for so long that he probably is comfortable with her which can be bad -- he met her back in college -- a lot of things have changed and will change over the years. A lot is expected of a 'Princess' and I for one do not think she is fit for the job.. this opinion comes of course after looking at previous experiences of hers and the actions of her family. I do not think Prince William cares what the public or other royals think, ie Princess Micheal of Kent. He will obviously do what he wants to do regardless of the consequences. One could compare his actions to his father's.
