Bret Michaels and Kristi Gibson Engaged

Bret Michaels and longtime girlfriend Kristi Gibson are officially engaged.

As anyone who watched last night's season finale of "Bret Michaels: Life As We Know It" already saw, the former Poison frontman got down on one knee and said the words every woman longs to hear: "Please say yes or the rejection will kill me right now."

Michaels denied back in July that he and Gibson -- who have been together on and off for 16 years and have two daughters together -- were engaged despite tabloid reports implying they were headed for marriage. That's because an engagement does not become official until it's broadcast on a VH1 reality show. Everyone knows that.

Congrats to the happy couple. May every one of their roses have as few thorns as possible.
