Julianne Hough video actually kind of not banned

By Jen Chaney

Julianne Hough recently told a crowd of Maryland concert-goers that her slightly provocative video for "Is That So Wrong" was "kind of" banned by Country Music Television.

Turns out that "kind of" isn't true.

As the L.A. Times reports, a representative for CMT says the video was indeed pulled, but because of "ongoing contract negotiations with Julianne's label, Universal Music Group." Other videos by Universal artists also were removed from MTV's and VH-1's Web sites earlier this year because of issues involving Universal's licensing agreement.

So the explanation for the missing Hough clip appears to be something far more boring than her allegedly too-racy-for-CMT content.

To be fair, when she said last week that the video had been banned, she made sure to use the phrase "kind of." Which, after all, is legalese for "not really."
