Britney Spears rep denies abuse reports

A rep for Britney Spears released a statement calling a Star magazine report claiming Spears had been physically abused by boyfriend Jason Trawick "completely and utterly false."
The abuse allegations came from Spears's one-time husband (for 55 hours) Jason Alexander, who also provided the magazine with tapes he claimed contained audio of a conversation between Spears and him in which she admits the abuse. Radar Online released more of the purported Spears/Alexander tapes late Tuesday, though an audio expert tells TMZ.com the tapes were "doctored."
"The audio recording ... purporting to be between Britney Spears and Jason Alexander is so obviously fake as to be laughable," Spears's rep told People.
Today, by the way, is Brit's 29th birthday.
