Taraji P. Henson and her semi-racy PETA ad

By Jen Chaney

Taraji P. Henson is now participating in a celebrity tradition -- getting naked for PETA advertisements.

As part of the animal rights group's "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign, Henson -- past Academy Award nominee and native of our own Washington, D.C. -- bares her torso-tattoo (and almost everything else) in the ad, which she says she decided to participate in after seeing a disturbing documentary about the treatment of animals on fur farms.

You can see the semi-NSFW image -- in which anything truly revelatory has been artfully covered up -- after the jump. For those keeping score, Henson joins a list of celebs who have stripped down for PETA, including Eva Mendes, Khloe Kardashian, Alicia Silverstone, the Go-Gos and, of course, David Cross. That last one was particularly shocking, since I totally thought he was a never-nude.

Indeed, it seems that Ms. Henson has totally de-furred herself.

Another nobody making a statement about something they know nothing about, PETA does not do anything to help animals! Working on wildlife Habitat or Conservation projects PETA, no way! PETA monthly dues go to hiring Lawyers and Public Relations professionals, want to do something to help wildlife join Ducks Unlimited or BASS, those guys have boots on the ground working on projects that improve wildlife habitat! Would you really take life advice from these semi stars? Remember they would advertise anything for the right size paycheck!

That is one well-photoshopped body.

"Another nobody making a statement about something they know nothing about"

I would hardly call an Academy Award nominee a "nobody". She was also in the remake of the Karate Kid which did very well at the box office. Just because you've never heard of someone or you disagree with their beliefs doesn't make them a nobody.

This just in: Rope Grinds Axe.

You do know that Ducks Unlimited was founded by waterfowl hunters, right?

And if by "BASS" you mean the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society, they might like to drop a line in the water now and again.

There's nothing wrong with that, of course. Nor is there anything wrong with being a person who is interested in the ethical treatment of animals.

I'm going to go out on a limb and hypothesize that BASS and DU also have a lawyer or two on their payrolls. And magazine, newspaper and OLN tv ads don't just make themselves - they rely on the abilities of Public Relations professionals.

Thanks for playing.

If a photo spread is only semi-racy, does that means it causes male viewers to start their engines and rev them a bit, but not dive out onto the race course?
