The Razzie nominations: 'Eclipse' and 'Airbender' lead the field in wretched filmmaking

"Last Airbender," getting much, um, love from the Razzies. (Zade Rosenthal)
The Razzie Award voters clearly don't care for Bella Swan, M. Night Shyamalan or anything connected with Carrie Bradshaw.
"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and "The Last Airbender" have earned nine Razzie nominations from the group of voters that routinely honors the worst achievements in Hollywood. "Eclipse" and "Airbender" were both nominated for worst picture, alongside "The Bounty Hunter," "Sex and the City 2" and "Vampires Suck." That's right, the Razzie voters have boldly declared that they hate "Twilight" and movies that make fun of "Twilight," which makes total sense to anyone who actually had to sit through "Vampires Suck."
The "Sex and the City" sequel scored an impressive seven nominations, 10 if you count the fact that Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kirstin Davis and Cynthia Nixon were nominated collectively for worst actress. The only categories that neglected to mention the Manohlos-meets-Muslim-culture comedy were the ones that "honored" male performances (Chris Noth is so breathing a sigh of relief right now) and the new "eye-gouging misuse of 3-D" award.
Proceed to the jump for the complete list of nominees and some notable Razzie snubs.
Of course, not every truly terrible work of cinema received its due. Even at the Razzies there are snubs. Among this year's overlooked works of excrement:
"Furry Vengeance" -- This is truly shocking. I thought for sure that this wretched attempt at family entertainment would earn a nod for worst picture, or at least one for Brendan Fraser's performance as a guy repeatedly taking shots in the crotch from fake woodland creatures. Did Razzie voters simply not see it?
"The Back-Up Plan" -- Razzie voters have generously recognized the work of Jennifer Lopez in the past. Missing this opportunity to honor her again seems like an oversight.
"A Nightmare on Elm Street" -- Surely this Freddy Krueger knock-off deserved a nominee in the Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel category.
That said, here's the complete list of nominees for this year's Razzies. While Sandra Bullock showed up at least year's ceremony to collect her trophy, I am thinking that Jennifer Aniston, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristen Stewart won't make it this year, should one of them win worst actress. Bullock should totally come back and present, then take all the attendees out for beers like she promised last year.

Twilight: Eclipse cost $68 million to make. Just a quick check at boxofficemojo: domestic and foreign sales combined for $693,579,566.00. And that doesn't include merchandising....I don't think they care to much if they got the "Razzie"
