Justin Bieber: The Grammy loss reaction videos
We've all had a day to process the news. But some Americans clearly are still reeling from the fact that Justin Bieber lost the best new artist Grammy to Esperanza Spalding.
Take poor young Jonah in the YouTube video above. His Grammy grief was so extreme that Conan O'Brien shared the above clip during an interview with Bieber on his show last night.
Jonah isn't the only weeping/outraged individual to respond to the Biebs Grammy snub on YouTube. There are a number of similar videos circulating, and I've highlighted a few of them here. Are these people genuinely reacting, or just acting? It's unclear in some cases. Either way, it's pretty fascinating to watch.
Here's another little boy who can't stop crying during the Grammys and a parent who clearly can't stop filming:
This Bieber fan's reaction undoubtedly was echoed by many: "Nooo! What? Esperanza Spalding? Who are you?"
I can't understand what this young lady is saying. But I know I wouldn't want to meet her in an alley after she found out Justin Bieber lost a Grammy Award:
Here's an entire family of little girls who collectively freak out when Spalding's name is announced. The video is not exactly masterfully shot, so take some Dramamine before you watch. Oh, and keep an eye out for my favorite part: the cute little tyke who just sits in the middle of the living room, repeatedly shaking her head.
Let's be clear: the Bieber disappointment was not limited to the younger set. This grandmother was upset as well, although, as she notes: "I'm not taking anything away from the girl that played the bass. I don't know what else she does. Does she sing while she plays the bass?"
Clearly Bieber, who also admits he was a little bummed about losing, is going to be fine. But let's hope Spalding seizes this moment to show as many people as possible that she can, indeed, sing while playing the bass.
