Oscars 2011: Live tweets from the red carpet

By Jen Chaney

Update, 9:25 p.m. EST:

Read the partial list of Oscar winners so far

It's Academy Awards Sunday. And that means the time has finally come to throw on that dress, slide on those moderately high-heeled shoes and park on the red carpet for an evening of ultra-high-wattage star-gazing, fashion assessing and insightful question-asking. (Sample: "How does it feel to be here tonight? And, in a related question, who are you wearing?)

Actually, some of you suggested some great red carpet questions in the blog, on Facebook and via our #oscarspotting Twitter hash tag. I'll aim to post some of the best ones on the Oscar red carpet in just a few hours.

Follow my tweets from the scene on, or right here in the blog.

Two notes: The twitter stream will pull in all items with the #oscarspotting hashtag, including tweets from others, so bear that in mind. Also, at some point on the red carpet, a celebrity switch gets pulled and suddenly, every famous person imaginable shows up at exactly the same time. If my tweets slow down at some point, that just means the switch has probably been flipped.

is it just me or is sandra1394 a spam post for a pay subscription website?

OK, it's 8:42 pm and I am sick of the two of them already. Who writes the drivel they have to pretend to spontaneously say? Their timing is so slow, the patter is not working at all. She is unbelievabley gorgeous, but why can't she let go of her dress? What's wrong with the middle of it? And why won't he open his eyes? (He's in one movie and he's hosting the Oscars??)

Agree w/ everything fmjk said. That opening sequence was lame -- the only mildly funny parts were when Alec Baldwin & Morgan Freeman were speaking.

What was up w/ Mila Kunis & Justin Timberlake seemingly in on a joke that was not being shared w/ the audience or at least not w/ the viewing audience?

This thing better start improving or I'll click it off & read about it tomorrow.
