Year of the Rabbit celebs: Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp and Zac Efron
People born in the Year of the Rabbit are reportedly articulate, talented and ambitious. Which may explain why so many Hollywood A-listers were born in the years associated with this Chinese zodiac animal: Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Zac Efron, Kate Winslet, Drew Barrymore, David Beckham -- to name just a few.
But what significance will the sign have for babies due to be born between now and Jan. 22, 2012? Considering the number of celebs expecting bundles of joy in 2011 -- including Pink, Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, Jewel, Marion Cotillard, Victoria Beckham, Jane Krakowski and Jennifer Connelly -- we thought it would be a good idea to do a little research.
According to the Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco, people born in the Year of the Rabbit are:
". . . articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper. They are clever at business and being conscientious, never back out of a contract. They would make good gamblers for they have the uncanny gift of choosing the right thing. However, they seldom gamble, as they are conservative and wise. They are most compatible with those born in the years of the Sheep, Pig, and Dog."
And, soon-to-be moms and dads take note, 2011 is, specifically, a year of the Metal Rabbit. And according to Wikipedia, those born in metal years can be "controlling, ambitious, forceful and set in their ways."
Consider yourself warned.
Wondering where you figure in the Chinese zodiac? Well, if you were born in 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987 or 1999, you may also be a rabbit. In the interest of full disclosure, I (Liz) was born in a Year of the Pig -- which apparently predisposes me to being chivalrous and gallant. Jen, on the other hand, was born in a rat year and is apparently noted for her charm and attraction for the opposite sex.
