Obama: 16 Votes and What Do You Get?

Peter Hauck

You get an override of President Bush's veto of the Iraq funding/troop withdrawl timetable bill, said Sen. Barack Obama in a speech at the National Conference of Black Mayor's Annual Convention in Baton Rouge, La., on Saturday.

Obama said he will pressure Congress to continue sending bills to President Bush that require withdrawal of U.S. troops until "we finally overcome his veto or he understands that he has to change course. We need 16 Republican votes in the Senate to override a veto. I'm not going to call out names but there's a Republican right here in Louisiana who needs to vote to end this war."
