Anti-Mark Warner Videos Already Up
Former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner's (D) opposition even beat him to the punch on YouTube.
Warner officially launched his bid to replace retiring Sen. John Warner (R-Va.) Thursday morning in an e-mail to supporters, and with an online video. He states in the video that Virgnia voters want change, and politicians that don't focus on partisan bickering...
As The Fix reported Thursday, Republicans face an uphill battle against Warner, who has sky-high approval ratings.
So the GOP is getting started early. Even before Warner announced his intention to run, the National Republican Senatorial Committee launched DontMarkWarner.com. The site attacks how Warner earned his personal fortune and criticizes the former governor for raising taxes, after promising not to do so.
The Web site also includes an online-only video targeting Warner's tax policies:
This video is part of the NRSC's "Two Seats. All it Takes" campaign, which we reported about last week. NRSC spokeswoman Rebecca Fisher told us then that "We have really been focused on is web video, and all the people we can reach that we typically don't really reach with say, press releases. ... We're really using this as a communications strategy, and driving our message through these web ads, so that state press will pick up on these issues."
Will the Virginia press pick up on Republicans' efforts to remind voters that Mark Warner raised taxes? Wait and see.

Not surprising. It's no wonder that rightwing-extremist Republican redneks would make such an ad so early. They're losing Virginia, election-by-election. And Republicans know they can't win election when the issues are addrssed--so they resort to extremist Karl Rove-type tactics. Pathetic.
