Clinton Energy Ad, NH and Iowa Style
Television viewers in Iowa and New Hampshire today start seeing a new ad from Hillary Clinton that delivers the same message, tailored ever so slightly to each state. The 30-second spot called "Energy Independence" focuses on... you guessed it: her plan for American energy independence.
In the New Hampshire ad, she's speaking indoors, with a backdrop that reads, "Helping Parents Balance Work and Family." She's in a dark brown pantsuit. She says: "Let's start investing in what I've called a strategic energy fund that will put $50 billion to work with wind, and solar, and biofuels," Clinton says. "And where would I get the money? I would take away the tax subsidies from the oil companies. They don't need your tax dollars anymore."
The Iowa ad is, well, pure Iowa. Her campaign bus is parked right outside a big red barn with a big American flag afixed to one side. Her pantsuit is a red-orange mix. The voters are gathered 'round to listen. She says: "I will create a strategic energy fund, that will put $50 billion to work with wind, and solar, and biofuels to help us move away from our dependence on foreign oil. And where would I get the money? I would take the tax subsidies away from the oil companies. Let's do it together."
