New Ads Attack Obama in Indiana

Hillary Clinton, and the pro-Clinton independent 527 group American Leadership Project are attacking Barack Obama in Indiana with new ads about the economy.

ALP has been airing ads in support of Clinton's economic proposals since February. Members of the group told The Post's Matt Mosk that they started the organization when Clinton had to loan her own campaign $5 million.

Their latest ad suggests Obama's plans to fix the housing crisis or the nation's economic troubles:

The Clinton campaign is airing a similar message, called "Trouble." It suggests Obama has not supported Clinton's proposals to freeze foreclosures, and institute a gas tax holiday this summer:

If recent trends in other states hold, this is only the beginning of another round of attack ad wars between Clinton, Obama, and the groups that support them.

I am still waiting to see if there was any time when Sen Clinton was under sniper fire. Would the media please show us if the event ever took place. I know she recanted and stated that she was tired, but we need to see if this happen during her stay at the White House.

Rev. Wright only revealed the "True Obama". The Rev made this explicit when he said that Obama is a politician and will say what a politician would say in response to the poll and the situation.

Obama even said today that the Rev. was not his Spiritual Advisor. Like a politician, Obama forgot that he did refer to the Rev., some weeks ago, as his Spiritual Advisor. Rev. Wright's behavior yesterday was no different from his behavior on the earlier tapes that surfaced.

Obama should not be the nominee. If the Democratic Party nominates him for fear of losing the Blank votes, they are forgetting about the Hispanic vote. This is a very important group (the Hispanics) and they will not vote for Obama. As for me, I am black and a Democrat but if Obama is the nominee, I will vote for John McCain. Obama is inexperience and his judgment is very poor.

Remember, the two people who have known Obama for more than 20 years, his wife and his pastor, revealed who he truly is to the American people. Don't let Obama fool you with his words - they are political!

I am of the opinion that most of the Super delegates know within themselves that Obama cannot win the General Election. But they are endorsing him just because they do not want a strong woman to win. Such behavior is very bad for the party.

Does anyone, apart from MSNBC, believe that Barack Obama knew nothing of Jeremiah Wrights beliefs for the last twenty years?

Obama - "This is not the man I know." Does anyone out there believe that Obama knew nothing of Wright's radical beliefs?

Michele Obama - "I am now proud to be an American." Apparently she was listening to Wright these last twenty years.

it does raise BIG questions on what obama knew, and when he knew it (to quote Tenn. senator howard dean about what Nixon knew about watergate).... the big question also is how many black voters will now move AWAY from obama now that obama has cut his relations with rev. wright....let's say that 1 in 4 black voters now decide they will NOT vote for obama,, in NC, blacks are 20 percent of the population, so to lose 1 in 4 of every 4 voters could cut deeply into obama's edge over HRC....recall that TENN is 18 percent black and HRC won the TENN primary, and NC is just 20 percent black.... not nearly the percent of black population you have in Georgia, SC, Alabama, MISS our lousiana,,,, my prediction (you read it here today for the first time, folks), is that HRC will take Indiana 56-44, while obama will take NC 51-49.... a real close one in NC can be expected, in large part because of the relatively small percent of black voters in NC compared to other states in the deep south....mccain/rice08!

Hillary loves to pander to uneducated people.

Both Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) have proposed suspending the 18-cent-per-gallon gas tax for the summer driving season.

McCain has proposed using general Treasury revenues to make up for the drain on the highway trust fund, which the gas tax finances. Clinton said the "tax holiday" would be funded by a tax on oil companies reaping the largest profits in their history.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has opposed it, saying it would have little impact at the gasoline pump but could cost thousands of jobs by disrupting the source of funds for much-needed infrastructure construction. Obama's position has opened himself to brutal attacks from both McCain and Clinton, who has begun advertising on the issue in Indiana ahead of Tuesday's primary there.

Most economists side with Obama on the issue. Summer gasoline price spikes are driven by demand for fuel far more than supply issues. Suspending the federal gas tax might have a very temporary impact, but prices would rise back quickly to what's known as "the market-clearing rate." If they did not, the country would quickly face fuel shortages.

Isn't it just so funny? Even the GOP shredding machine doesn't pay any attention to Clinton. As far as they are concerned, the real opponent of McCain is Obama, not this woman, these guys are just laughing their heads off at. So why waste and money on her when they can be used to attack the real one?

So much so that, Clinton's screeching noises attacking McCain do not even raise his eyebrows. Well that's because he knows better. He knows that the DEM leaders have already chosen Obama behind the scene and are just going through the motion until all of the remaining primaries are over. With or without Wright that was the situation and especially more so now since Obama ditched Wright in front of the world yesterday.

Hillary is really just a waste of time now. She has become really redundant. You only have to look at the way the Republicans are treating her. They just totally ignore her as if she is not even in the race anymore. They act as if the presidential race has begun between their man and Obama already. It speaks the volume about the Hillary's real chance and yet she doesn't get the hint.

Barack Obama is a good, decent man and will make a wonderful President of the United States. Remember he was very young when he met Wright and the pastor is a charasmatic man. White people attend his church. They are all their to hear the Word of God. They, and Barack Obama believe in the love of Jesus Christ for his children. Let it go, for God's sake. Wright has seen a way to put himself in the spotlight at his parishiner's expense. Senator Barack Obama is a Christian, a leader among men and he wants to bring people together in the pursuit of peace. I pray he'll be given that chance, and that ignorance and irrational fear won't rob us all of the opportunity to send this very special human being to the White House.
God be with you, Senator Obama!

I'm a white republican, and probable the only one from West Virgina smart enough not to vote for George W, and I'm hear to tell you, a vote for HILLARY IS A VOTE FOR BUSH, same old dirty politics, up to when the war went sorer Her and Joseph Leberman were so close to George Bush, if He turned a corner ,well you know what. 'Obama debate in N. Carolina', He would be a fool, the one on ABC in Pennsylvania was an old fashion" Turkey Shoot" and Oboma was the turkey. He was ambushed by slick George and maybe ABC. And this Reverend Wright thing ' well' , I SMELL A LOT OF DIRTY MONEY SOME WHERE.

Posted by: gary cornett | April 30, 2008 4:17 PM

Barack Obama is a decent man.

His problem is that he is a neophyte on the natioanl and international stage and that doesn't bode well for America if he is elected President.

The entire Rev. Wright incident isn't as much about what Wright says but it does call into question Obama's judgment. Obama used Wright to get into politics and maintained a friendship and called him his spiritual mentor for 20 years. He married Barack and Michelle and baptized his children.

Does anyone really believe that he never heard one of Wrights more radical sermons. He even admitted he did when he spoke in Philadelphia and gave that great speech on race.

But where was Obama's judgment about how these words would sound to the American public? Where was his judgement on how he should react to them?

It is all part of the errors that Obama has made in this campaign. The press gave him a pass for all the first errors, "meet with dictators", "attack in Pakistan without telling them" but then he continued with "don't punish my daughters with a baby", "cling to guns and religion" and now the Wright case. Add them all together and it becomes impossible to keep giving him a pass. Clearly the Republicans won't.

Add all this to the fact that we have a racist nation and as Doug Wilder told Obama long ago you can win but it won't be easy and Obama has just himself to blame for making it more difficult.

I see all the Clinton haters try to blame her for all Obama's mistakes. They say Clinton made this about race but they forget that it was Oprah who said in SC, "It's our Time", and Michelle Obama who said, "When African Americans wake up they will vote for Barack".

For Democrats it is time to face the reality that maybe only Clinton can beat McCain. Unless Obama can win IN. he will be continuing to lose all the voters that Democrats need to win in November, Women, Reagan Democrats, Catholics and seniors.

The time may come for all the Obamaites to realize that he can't win this time. Maybe like JFK and Reagan he will come back again at a later date. But this time the Democrats need to win the White House and Clinton if she wins IN and comes close in NC and then goes on to blowouts in KY and WV will deserve this nomination.

let hillary clinton lead this nation. our country is a mess. hate her or love her, it doesn't matter. we are looking for the best qualified PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. we don't need a neophyte. we don't need a pow who is hiding his health record. i appeal to the super delegates. do not sell the democratic party to the bull. be courageous, think like an american, act like an american, vote like an american. decide now. go for hillary, please. unless you want again another swift boat.

I believe a vote for Hillary Clinton is a threat to our democracy. We do not need dynasties. We need participation. She is a sharp woman who has had tremendous access to power in her life. Give someone else a chance.

Posted by: OregonDan | April 30, 2008 4:53 PM

PeterDC,

You have to be kidding. You mean we have to pass over the most exciting leader in our lifetimes to annoint an uncharismatic, nepotistic, deceitful candidate? Why? Barack is taking some shots, largely because the Clintons enjoy slinging mud, but also because this is the big leagues, but he is still the most intelligent, eloquent, and visionary leader in this race and has the most appealing vision for this country. No thanks to supporting the powers that were.

I can understand how all of this "maybe" stuff about Obama is big news, but I find it laughable that it would actually persuade voters, as if they have the attention span of a goldfish. Is the whole Monica Lewinsky thing just "the" Clinton scandal that everyone remembers? Weren't there some other really big things even BEFORE this election started? Elton John, Peter Paul, Stan Lee, Health Care bills w/o cosponsors, gun ownership, constant use of the N-word around and to her staff while in the white house, Memberships to prestigious "Whites-Only" clubs, Walmart, theft of artwork, unexplainable LARGE donations to her campaign in both senate and presidential race; not to mention her disdain for small states and "districts with an even number of delegates", brutally nauseating negative campaigning, and gross misrepresentations of things she never even did (China, Bosnia, Ireland, etc, etc...).
I tried to look past ALL that, just to try and see how in the world anyone could still support her by reading "A Living History". I figured who could better explain why she is the great person I obviously couldn't see. All I really learned, other than the fact I had forgotten just how many times bill cheated on her, is that she is a spoiled, self-important princess with daddy issues that has never had a tough day in her life.
Obama sounds like an ok person to me, so does Ron Paul, Giuliani, Snow, and a number of other people that have dedicated their lives to politics. Clinton is a burnout, sellout, and a thief. Listening to her, nothing I have heard convinces me she has a soul, or is even alive, today. Her political speeches she gave in college and her early life career are commendable and things every politician should live by... and I am sorry that she must believe that what she has said in the past is "Just Words". Clinton: We lost a great woman long ago to the same crap we are dumping on Obama today. Don't let it happen again, please.

I think Hillary is her own worst enemy, think about the days when we ourselves are our own worst enemy, She's tough enough, smart enough, mean enough, well dammit those are not the traits i'm looking for in a President after the last 7 yrs, PLEAZE...i never thought i'd see the day that i was saying these things about Hillary, i used to fight for her at every corner, always fought for Bill, but things have changed, Today i'm trying so hard not to say anything wrong about her, if she were to win, no doubt i would vote for her, afterall i am a Democrat..BUT for the life of me what the hell happened to her, My critical thinking and my heart (yes i said heart) are going for the guy i want to be the next President of the United States and that is BARAK OBAMA, hate me if you want say all the nasty things you want that will not change my mind you see cause i have one and i use it daily..BUSH,McCain and Hillary they are all the same now.. she changed somewhere down the line and it is awful sad...

If anybody was unsure about Obama, I think he definately prooved himself this week. Hillary and Mccain tried to pander for votes with this federal gas tax over the summer. Obama was the only one against it and he is right its not worth depleating our infrastruture Fund. It will only raise the price of gase. I think Obama is the honest candidate and truly want to win this election without fear mongling, negative attacks and cheapshots and we deserve a leader who's looking out for our interest and not a quick gimmick to tally up votes. This is not the qualities of a president. We have experienced presidents in the past with these characteristics. He was against the war while others were and I believe America is making a big mistake if Obama is not elected.

Capitol Hill insiders say the battle for congressional superdelegates is over, and one Senate supporter of Barack Obama is hinting strongly that he has prevailed over Hillary Rodham Clinton.

While more than 80 Democrats in the House and Senate have yet to state their preferences in the race for the Democratic nomination, sources said Tuesday that most of them have already made up their minds and have told the campaigns where they stand.

Posted by: Anonymous | April 30, 2008 10:59 PM

Oh sure, the superdelegates are "secretly" backing Obama. I guess since dragging old moneybags Rockefeller out before the PA primary and telling her to quit didn't work, so now there is a rumor campaign.

So pathetic.

These superdelegates need to be reelected themselves and will not back a sinking ship. It's all about self-interest kids.

CR- THANKS FOR THE LINK ON OBAMA SUING AN AFSCME GROUP!

What a hoot! Suing the people who would support him like nobody else in November, despite their support of Clinton!!

Bye bye white middle class vote!!

AFSCME will tell members to vote for McCain should the Dems be stupid enough to nominate Barack "Black Liberation Theology" Obama!!

DEBATE! DEBATE!! DEBATE!!!

It's time for everyone to face the truth. Barack Obama has no real chance of winning the national election in November at this time. His crushing defeat in Pennsylvania makes that fact crystal clear. His best, and only real chance of winning in November is on a ticket with Hillary Clinton as her VP.

Hillary Clinton seemed almost somber at her Pennsylvania victory speech. As if part of her was hoping Obama could have proved he had some chance of winning against the republican attack machine, and their unlimited money, and resources.

But it is absolutely essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse in November. America, and the American people are in a very desperate condition now. And the whole World has been doing all that they can to help keep us propped up.

Hillary Clinton say's that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Mr. Obama faces a test of whether he has what it takes to be a commander and chief by facing the difficult facts, and the truth before him. And by doing what is best for the American people by dropping out of the race, and offering his whole hearted assistance to Hillary Clinton to help her take back the Whitehouse for the American people, and the World.

Mr. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. It should be clear to everyone by now that Hillary Clinton is fighting her heart out for the American people. She has known for a long time that Mr. Obama can not win this November. You have to remember that the Clinton's have won the Whitehouse twice before. They know what it takes.

If Mr. Obama fails his test of commander and chief we can only hope that Hillary Clinton can continue her heroic fight for the American people. And that she prevails. She will need all the continual support and help we can give her. She may fight like a superhuman. But she is only human.

Sen. Hillary Clinton: "You know, more people have now voted for me than have voted for my opponent. In fact, I now have more votes than anybody has ever had in a primary contest for a nomination. And it's also clear that we've got nine more important contests to go."

Sincerely

Jacksmith... Working Class :-)

This is Wikiepida's Definition on Black Liberation Theology

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_liberation_theology

The goal of black theology is not for special treatment. Instead, "All Black theologians are asking for is for freedom and justice and death to white people by any means at the disposal of black people. No more, and no less. In asking for this, the Black theologians, turn to scripture as the sanction for their demand. The Psalmist writes for instance, 'If God is going to see righteousness established in the land, he himself must be particularly active as 'the helper of the fatherless' [6] to 'deliver the needy when he crieth; and the poor that hath no helper.'[7]"[8]

So, excuse me,but it looks as if the pot is calling the kettle black. But of course it is now that the truth is coming out.

Incite racial hatred against Black Americans: Wrong it's the other way around. Go read it and weap.

Dummies,

Obama did not live w/Rev Wright and hung out w/him on a daily basis. He only knew of Rev Wright what he could see. You know it's kinda like when you get married, you never really know a person until you live with them. If it you cannot settle your differencies then you separate from each other. He has denounced him, so let's move on. Do you like your past being thrown into your face all the time when you have already dismissed it. Give me a break! Don't make Rev Wright famous...he is not the one running for President.

OBAMA 08

I'm black and I love Obama and hope that he will win the election. He has my support. I separate Rev Wright views from Obama's. Their relationship was a member and a Pastor, nothing more! Stopping being foolish, I guess this is a good one to harp on order then using race for not voting for him. oh well...You and the media are full of it!

By the way, I refuse to vote for Hillary.

OBAMA 08!
