YouTube Viewers Can Now Donate Directly to Obama

Anyone who watches a Barack Obama video on YouTube now has the option of donating directly to his campaign.

The campaign activated the Google Checkout option on all of its YouTube videos on Tuesday, meaning viewers can make donations from $15 to $1,000. Checkout allows online shoppers (or in this case, voters) to create a single login for all online purchases (or donations).

The Obama campaign is the only presidential campaign currently allowing the Checkout option on its YouTube videos.

Since hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions of people regularly view Obama's YouTube productions, the Checkout option is a no-brainer: People watch the video, like what they see, and are compelled to immediately donate.

We first noticed the Checkout option on Obama's new ad airing in Montana, called "Achieve."

Obama says in part: "It's about you and your struggles, and helping you achieve the American Dream. We can not afford to wait. The American people are ready for change. ... On June 3rd, we will not just win Montana, we will change this country, and we're going to change the world."

Obama is currently the only presidential candidate airing ads in Montana.

I love it! The Obama campaign is using the power of the net like no other campaign before in history. That one of the biggest factor in Hillary Clinton demise. The Clinton campaign failed to take the net into account early on and that what killed them. You just cannot say that many stupid things when millions of peoples got YouTube channels to debunk and make a fool of you!

The only money that should go to B.H. Obama is counterfeit money, because he is a counterfeit candidate. He is NOT what he purports to be. In my opinion, he is not a Christian, but still a subject of Islam, as was his former bigotted pastor. Blacks will vote for him, not for a substantive reason, but because he is black. I can't imagine why whites vote for him, other than Jt'e the thing to do. Do people not realize this is for The PRESIDENCY?

Senator Obama and his campaign team have rung rings round Team Clinton in their understanding and harnessing of all the twenty first century information technology.

This bodes well for Sentaor Obama's Presidency as it will make for a more open, tranparent and involved Government. This can only be good for the Nation.

Obama is the president for the 21st century. In a time of globalization, we need a president with a world view, an understanding of the changes going on in the world today. McCain and Bush have gotten us mired in a third rate country, where we are sacrificing our young men and women and investing billions of dollars, while China, India and other countries are growing their economies and educating their young people for the 21st century.

oh Bob how racist can you be why would white people vote for him? Come on he is a Christian he was baptised he isn't muslim. Where do you get this stuff it is words like you use that keeps poisoning people about racism and keeps the country divided. Don't vote for him because you don't like his policies but not because he's black. Vote for Hillary because of her policies but not because she's a white woman. Obama is a smart man who knows how to utilize the internet and he is it doesn't make him fake.

We were so far right that we're now swinging too far left. BO seems fresh air but he's actually hot air. And a lot of it. It isn't really amazing that so many people are falling for his rhetoric. As Sitting Bull said at Little Big Horn: "It's a good day to die." We, quite the contrary, are going to live to regret our reaction to a guy who knows how to reach the ears of the disenchanted, however, like the Pied Piper, will lead us to ruin with his lack of savvy. He should be Vice Pres to Hillary, which would give him the on the job training he needs.

Barack Obama, i think the man America needs him now as a child needs is/her mother, i don't think any other candide at the moment can reach his standard, so don't waste your time With other candidates because they can't fix the damage bush and his war mongers done to the American economy and rest of the world. This is 21 century and it is centure of technology, Clinton and old man can't stand for China and India, so he is the right man for the job, give him a break. And stop racial thing this is beyond race or religon.

The savvy that Sen. Obama has shown throughout this campaign bodes VERY well, indeed, for his ability to translate positive thoughts into productive actions.

As president, I just know that Barack will surround himself with the same kind of brilliance and expertise that have made his campaign organization the stuff of legends even before it ends!

The audacity of hope he inspires is for us ALL!

Go Obama '08!!!

Hillary is trying to fool everyone that she is still in the race. It WILL be OVER next Wednesday. And Hillary will not be the nominee. She can take her little racist troupe and head back to Arkansas.

Obama's campaign has been so far ahead of Hillary and her hateful bunch. I have never seen such a bunch of losers all in one place as in Hillary's campaign.

Posted by: oldman&theC | May 30, 2008 12:29 AM

this is the ultimate scam, you take your number and get in line with the rest of the sheep. A perfect way to hide where money comes into a campaign from the big money hacks right on down to the little sheep. Its only money honey and this guy is gonna have alot of people to pay back if elected esp with a sweet deal like this.$$$$$$$$$send lawyers guns and $$$$$

I think Obama run a very intelligent compaign...and I believe nobody expected him to succeed so easily...not even himself...However, to succeed as a commander-in-chief he should consider surrounding himself with the following achievers:::Collin Powel Rep.(for defence)..Bill Richardson(for State)...Hillary Clinton(for Labour)...J.Edwards for VP the rest should be easy to fill....((an admirer))
