McCain Plays it 'Safe' in First General Election TV Ad

The first TV ad of John McCain's general election campaign is a direct-to-camera appeal that once again highlights his military career, but makes it clear he's no fan of war. The ad will air in battleground states, according to the McCain campaign, in a bid to address concerns about his support of President Bush's Iraq policy.

Only a fool or a fraud talks tough or romantically about war. When I was five years old, my father left for war. My grandfather came home from war and died the next day. I was shot down over Vietnam and spent five years as a POW. Some of the friends I served with never came home.
I hate war. And I know how terrible its costs are. I'm running for President to keep the country I love safe.

A few observations about this ad:

-- McCain's "I hate war" Statement: He has said this several times, including on Tuesday night in Louisiana, and last week in Milwaukee.

-- Biography: Another McCain ad, another mention of his and his family's military service. We should expect he'll continue to mention this in an effort to contrast himself with Barack Obama. But, as this ad and his recent speeches demonstrate, McCain's military career does not imply a hawkish stance.

-- On-Screen Disclaimer: Several McCain ads have included images of his father and grandfather, and of his Vietnam imprisonment. None of them, to our recollection, have ever included the on-screen disclaimer: "Military images do not imply endorsement by DOD or service branch."

the real as should read.

America is doing great, shipping jobs out of the country has been good for America, Oil skyrocketing is good for America, Spending hundreds of Billions on Iraq rather then America is good for America, killing thousand of more troops and maiming even more in Iraq is excellent for America as it employess's people.

Giving hundreds of billions in low damn near no interest loans to corporations that bankrupted their own companies through greed is good for America, all those homes being foreclosed on is good for America.

Stay the course
Vote john McCain President.

NO FREAKING WAY, END THE COURSE

OBAMA, President of the United States of America
January 2009

Yes indeed McCain is setting his sights on Clinton supporters who want more of the same.

America in Iraq thousands of more troops killed and maimed.

Oil companies to continue receiving over 18 billion in tax subsidies because they aren't making any profits and need a government handout.

Continued multi billion dollar loans at low and damn near NO interest loans to Wall $treet, said loans and interest rates never making it to those they are supposed to help as they are given in bonuses to upper management.

The continuing plummet of the dollar.
\
Food prices going higher because some MORONS in congress said lets the drivers starve feed the gas tanks with food. CORN for methanol.

I can go on but all one has to do is say George Bush and you have it all in a nutshell, if those who are so hateful of America and so afraid of Obama that they would put another Bush named McCain into the Presidency then they are fools., and they WILL get four more years of what we've already had for the last TWENTY YEARS.

Clinton supporters for John McCain need to take a deep breath and decide if it is worth destroying what is left of America because they are mad Clinton lost.

If John McCain abhors war so much why is he supporting the war in Araque? He has supported the war. Why does he allow hundreds of thousand of our miliary forces to be subjected to a war which, like Viatman, we cannot win??
I believe Obama has it right - get our troops out of a war that shold never have been approved or fought. Withdraw and look at altenative ways to negotiation peace between the Sunnis and Shiats to their own peaceful resolution. If this can't be achieved we must fully withdraw. We can NEVER do it for them.

MCcain ads is as dry as he is. He can't get out of the Vietam War. So maybe we will be in Iraq for 100 years. Its sad to live in a Flash-back.

If Mccain whole theme is going to be about war and him being a POW, then he better get a new message. The American people deserve more and not more of the same.
