McCain Mocks Media's Crush on Obama
Just like Obama Girl, the news media's got a crush on Barack. And there's not much the McCain campaign can do about it -- except, of course, have some fun. Here's a cringe-inducing compilation of clips set to the syrupy "My Eyes Adored You." (MSNBC's Chris Matthews is particularly smitten -- and scary.)

Today's WP Politics Section(campaign 2008) is a perfect example of this media bias people are talking about. Six articles on Obama, and one on McCain, with the single McCain piece being negative. Guess they should change the title to Obama campaign 2008... This is getting to the ridiculous point - the public deserves better.
After the media is finished artificially inflating someone with no experience, get ready for the loud woooosh, when the deflation of the balloon occurs!

I think Obama is so infatuated with himself that he can't see that we will not be voting for him. He is certainly not liked by the Hillary half of the Democrats. The media's love affair with this nobody who can't speak without a teleprompter is not representative of the American public.

I LOVE this advertisement. This signals a good luck for McCain Campaign.

seems like mcsame is suffering from a mental recession. America deserves better than this campaign of whiners
if the media wrote more articles about mcsame, the media would probably have to discuss mcsame's gaffs in geography, gaffs in memory, and gaffs in selecting advisors
if they wrote more about mcsame, the media would probably have to admit that mcsame is wrong about what al Maliki said, wrong about Iraq, and not very smart about foreign policy after all
and if there were more xtories about mcsame, one of those stories might mention how his millionair wife second wife was convicted of stealing prescription drugs using a charity
so maybe it's better if you guys don't write too many stories about mcsame
Keep telling people that Obama is a Muslim, and al Maliki didn't really say what he actually said
it's the best thing the media can do to help mcsame

I agree with the above poster. The media is in love with Obama, but that did not help him win PA, OH, NH, NV, etc., and it won't help him in the general election.
This empty suit with absolutely no experience, will not win the day in the end. The media has begun to separate itself from reality. No wonder people like myself don't watch TV news anymore or the talking heads on Sunday.
The anchors, and the people they are supposed to be reporting on, are engaging in a love fest instead of the reporters doing their job. Many who are political junkies can see the handwriting on the wall, but evidently the MSM cannot.
While people faint in the "chosen one's" path, others, like myself, are following McCain, the only other viable candidate who at least has some experience. As Democrats leave the Party in droves after the pooh bahs screwed Clinton out of the nomination (which she won), and "the great one" has stabbed his left wing following in the back with so many policy reversals it is not funny, the media is so focused on the "chosen one," they can't wait to sing his praises every time he sneezes.
You know, when I read these articles I just laugh and laugh. My opinion is just as valid, perhaps more valid, than any of these "columnists." Part of the reason is that I don't dine at the same restaurants that the people I am supposed to be scrutinizing do; my kids don't go to the same schools or PTA meetings that the people that I am reporting on do; I don't take vacations in the same 5 star resorts that the people I supposed to be reporting on do; and I have no vested interest in getting them on my TV show or for my next interview. Thus, I have the freedom, although unpaid and unsung, to look at reality. In this respect, the MSM is bankrupt, the articles on this blog reflect that.
For once, I would like someone to do some honest investigative reporting on the "chosen one," and earn some of their money instead of just wallowing in it.

Maybe Mccain needs to get off the 4 day work week and make some news. It seems the only story he has to push is close to 40 years old. We have heard it. I doubt if he calls a press conference titled, "My days as a POW" he will draw very many. Same with his town hall meetings all titled "Why you should not vote for Obama". If he ever called a press conference where he actually told us anything he planed to do that actually sounded anything but ridiculous, people may stop for a minute and listen. I live in South Florida and I can tell you, there is not one Mccain ad running that has anything to do with why I should vote for Mccain. Just one negative ad after another about Obama. Many so ridiculous they must be aimed at the least informed people in the country. After like the tenth one you begin to figure he has nothing positive to say about himself and stop listening. I went to one of his town hall meetings to give him a chance. All I came away with was, he seemed so nuts I thought "This man must never be allowed to be president". He spoke like he thinks he is talking to morons who can't do any research and find all his half truths an out and out lies. Honestly, after that I made my first donation to Obama and began working for his campaign. I honestly think Mccain is out of his mind and if elected would have little of no say about what he did. He would just be a puppet of maybe Cheney, who knows. I know one thing, he is it WAY to nuts to be our president.

So this "media crush" - where are the washington post, nytimes, cnn etc articles or comments on the fact that McCain stated that Iraq was the first major conflict since 9/11?

This is the biggest nonsense I've ever heard. What happens to a show that loses it's audience? It gets cancelled. If there were No interest in Obama, there would be no media... Journalism 101. These media folks are going where the interest is... certainly not out of love but RATINGS!!!! They are like scavengers salivating while waiting for the "slip-up" moment to descend and tear him apart... Puleeze, anyone thinking this is anything other than an anticipated kill clearly does not remember "bittergate".

JOHN MCCAIN THE CANDIDATE OF HATE
Mccain has turned the final corner in his political campaign. It is little more then a campaign of hate now with no substance. Mccain will not be able to turn back now. As people begin to see this man is little more then a cancer on our political landscape as grotesque as that on his face, they will respond in November. I see many of Mccains votes that are just anti Obama votes pealing off to Barr or Nader as little more then protest votes.

Re: Perception vs. Media
Sorry Folks, I've come back. Someone hacked my new cell phone again and has been blocking all of my in-coming and out-coming calls from my new phone.
The person even has been blocking my in-coming as well as out-going emails, especially those sent to the particular organizations to which my emails were sent from my school email account. The person also has been listening whatever I've said on the phone and kept sending me spooky emails! My phone company said that the only possible theory is that someone is playing a game with his/her computer to scare me.
Right after talking to my friend about Asian way of meditating over the phone, I got a spooky email asking my ethnicity, age, and social security number, pretending as if s/her were my employer. So, who is this person? Well, I do not know. Is someone stalking me? I do not know. Then, why is this person harassing me? I do not know.
One possible theory is maybe my posting has been hot!
I immigrated to the United States and achieved my American Dream. I worked hard and earned my doctoral degree. I did not have any money, but America provided what I needed most: money, education, and work.
I am posting my hot comments here to pay back whatever America has provided for me, if any of my observation can help the American public understand the situation. That is Asian way of thanking for those who have helped me. We do not betray those who helped us--even once. That is Asian Value.
I am proud of being called "Chang." Chang is a male name that my Dad gave me because he was expecting a son! It means "bright, smart, and brilliant"--the premier. "In" means "nice" and "benevolent"; "Shin" is my family name, meaning "thoughtful" and "prudent."
My neighbors, including police officers, are scared to see me assuming me a "Chinese" or "North Korean" spy. I am a South Korean, and I am proud of being a Korean-American. I am also a woman, and I am proud of being a woman.
People mis-conceptualize that I am a Chinese male, but I am not going to change my name. I am happy with my name; I am happy with who I am. I am a Catholic (but sometimes I do not go to Church) and believe in God, the Love of God.
My age? Top secret!
PS. I am not going to change my cell phone again either. I tried all phones.

I think people fail to realize the big picture of the media frenzy. The way I see it, the media hype is more of the media covering every move of Obama's is to see if he is going to stumble or make gaffes in any of his statements. The fact is there are some people in the world who just want Obama to fail. Unfortunetly, it is becoming a failed mission by republicans and anti-Obama peole. That's okay, I believe that Obama is higher than any of the negative rhetoric that is being displayed by negative people.
Remember the saying "misery loves company".

I think McCain is beginning to look like a grumpy old man. He is whining, attacking, negative... very ugly and it is a sure turn off for me.

Republican Women Say No To McCain
Full news article here: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/0 6/18/MNS211BBRL.DTL&tsp=1
Short quote from the article: "The challenges facing Sen. Barack Obama as he tries to woo supporters of former rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton could pale in comparison with Sen. John McCain's troubles with female voters - if the voices of a growing number of prominent Republican women are any indication. "I cannot see a more counterproductive candidate for women," said Jillian Manus-Salzman, a leading California Republican activist and generous GOP donor in the nation's most populous state, an ATM for presidential campaigns. "I cannot vote for McCain."
McCain said that: "As for offshore drilling, it's safe enough these days that not even Hurricanes Katrina and Rita could cause significant spillage from the battered rigs off the coasts of New Orleans and Houston."
In fact, Katrina and Hurricane Rita caused damage to oil rigs and storage facilities in the Gulf, according to press reports and government studies.
The hurricanes totally destroyed 113 oil rigs, according to the government's Minerals Management Service, and damaged 457 pipelines. The resulting oil spills were large enough to be seen from space, according to several reports
A review by the Houston Chronicle reported that the two storms in the summer of 2005 caused 595 oil spills that released an estimated 9 million gallons of oil into the gulf, much of that from oil storage facilities on the shores.
