New Obama Ad About Iraq and Economy
Barack Obama continues his Hawaii vacation today, but his campaign has released a new ad promoting his Iraq and economic proposals.
"Economics ... by John McCain," the ad starts. "Support George Bush 95 percent of the time. Keep spending ten billion dollars a month for the war in Iraq. While the Iraqis sell oil for record prices. Giving Iraq a $79 billion oil surplus ... And hurting our economy."
"Barack Obama's plan: End the war responsibly. Better schools. No more tax breaks for oil companies."
The ad will air in 16 battleground states: Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
The campaign released an ad in Nevada earlier this week about Yucca Mountain and continues to air a national spot during NBC Olympics coverage about the candidate's energy proposals.

Thank God, Finally an ad with substance that enables the McSames to understand something other than babbleings.
All we need to do is reseach the McSame crap and all the lobyist millions he's collected for this run. Oh I forgot he only walks.
This is a good McSame-101.
A POW and a VET does not make one Presidential, However; McSame can be president of the History league that will help him to remember history and what country borders the other, and the so many other memory loss. I forgot Alzheimer’s is settling in.

Compare this to the "where the white women at?" ads that McCain is running... Don't we want a President who is a natural leader and not a negative wanna-be bully?

Honestly, we do not know all the answers. Russia caught us with our pants down. All we can do is shake our fingers at them helplessly while our troops remain tied down in Iraq. We the progressives can say with certainty what does not work: Republican leadership.

McCain had 30 years in cogress why he thinks he can fix evry thng know .30years was not enough. And republican had the congress for how long until last two years did the people of us forget that

Mccain is a individual with terrible jusgement and is a clear and present danger to the united states in foreign and economic policies. Misguided and now a subscriber of the intellectually bankrupt rovian campaign strategy fueled by lies, distortions and fear mongering. The choice is clear.

Barack's ad and policies makes sense for the working poor. Experience got America in this economic predictament. I would rather exchange changed policies for failed experiences. Barack is a breath of fresh air to many citizens in the United States. He speaks for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Some of you need to learn how to spell. That must be the Democratic Cogress. And I hope we don't use their jusgement. Now, common sense should tell you that global warming is a HOAX, we need to drill and explore for oil (where ever we can), and that we haven't had a terrorist attach in America since 9/11 (and the Iraq war...which, by the way, we won).

I am amazed at the number of grammar and spelling mistakes presented by Mr. Obama's supporters.
Perhaps if he is elected, he can fix the edumacation system for all of us dummies.

Hi Stevenspecht.
When there is nothing to say let's critisize spelling, color, name religion. What else?

I usually cringe when I see a "contrast" (read: negative) ad from either party, but this one is surprisingly clean: it provides a list of facts that convict the opponent without character assassination or name-calling, then pivots to the candidate's positions and priorities. It's tolerable, which is more than I can say for most of the rubbish politicians run on TV any more.
Posted by: JohnD | August 14, 2008 1:44 AM
his ad is too complex! Nothing compares to the stupid simplicity of the McCain lie about Obama raising taxes. We need something strong and dumb (but true), like
McCain=MORE WAR
McCain=MORE DEBT

Cheryl, how does an Obama ad make sense for the working poor?

Clinton, who lacked experience, started the party and provided all the drugs. So can you clarify your thoughts for us please.

We got to end this Iraq war and let that government own its home country and pay for its ownership so we can lower costs at the pump, which are killing us.
This ad reminds us how well off the Iraqi's are so they can take on the burden we been carrying for them and mostly without their consent. But we are reminded of our own problems every time we pump gas. Not to mention our young folks that keep giving their lives and limbs. For what?
I notice that its not just Dems that want a careful end to this war but also some Republicans. Colin Powell for one although he is mighty quiet most of the time.

It seems to be obvious that obama lacks substance. He say nothing with so many words. How could anyone be swayed by empty words?
Posted by: Dave | August 14, 2008 9:22 AM
The war in Iraq can now be assessed from a much stronger position. If it was up to Barack the terrorist would now have a haven in Iraq. Would you go to a church for 20 years that preached something you did not approve of?
Posted by: Dave again | August 14, 2008 9:26 AM
Dave again, first come and get your sign, it's ready for you. Second, EMPTY words? mcCstank been in congress for over 25 years and what has he shown for it? A photo with Curious George Bush! HE IS A LOSER who can't even give a speech without looking down the ENTIRE TIME! He is the one who is empty in his head! BEING A P.O.W DOESN'T QUALIFY YOU TO LEAD THE COUNTRY, Maybe he can run Guantanamo! Oh yeah, he don't even know where it is!!

Buck Tx, I take it you have not been paying attention to the news. The US and Iraq Governemnt are working on a withdraw plan as we speak. Progress has been made and the Iraqi government are ready to make these moves.
Posted by: Malibu | August 14, 2008 2:26 PM
Peter,
Don't come up with nonsense that
McCain = MORE WAR.
Because
Obama = MORE WAR
We all know that the progress in Iraq has made it where the US and the Iraqis are working out a withdraw plan. And this is all being done without the help of OBAMA or MCCAIN. Additionally, Obama is going to send more troops to Afghanistan and escalate things over there as he had said so himself. So you know very well that:
OBAMA = MORE WAR

Lets hear the real story of Obama, the man, the wife, the racist church he attended for 20 years, and if there are any leadership skills.
His energy policy really told me a lot about the man, inflate your tires with more hot air than they should hold; sounds like inflating his credentials with more political hot air than is safe for this country. When will the media do their job and responsibly report the whole truth.
If the snow skier stays in front of the avalance as they both go down hill, is the skier truly 'leading'. That's the real questsion concerning Obama's leadership.

Taxes are meant to raise money for the government, not to punish. Good tax policies encourage growth and in our global economy our tax policies must be competitive with other nations, especially in the developed world.
Senator Obama is now proposing the raising of a variety of taxes (including those on long-term capital gains, qualified dividends and some payroll taxes) as the United States economy and the world economy is slowing. This is not wise.
Senator McCain proposes leaving two key investment taxes the same, the long-term captital gains tax and the qualified dividends tax. That makes sense because to penalize investments in a slowing economy ignores reality.
Another key element is that McCain proposes lowering the corporate income tax to 25 percent from 35 percent. That may seem generous at first, but the Wall Street Journal reports today that we have the second highest corporate income tax in the world, considering combined federal and state taxes, 39.3 percent average. Only Japan is slightly higher. Nations around the world, from Israel to Germany to Turkey are cutting rates to lure capital and jobs from the United States.
Taxes are highly relevant in the creation and retention of jobs. One by one and overall, Senator McCain's tax policies are far more growth oriented and jobs oriented than those of Senator Obama.

All I can think about was Barak Obama this week saying "John McCain has no idea what he is getting into."
You would think that someone would take Barak aside and say "Hey dod! Are you sure you want to say that about a man who spent 5 years in a Viet Cong prision camp having his legs and arms broken, beaten on a regular basis .... do you really think what you have to bring aginst him in a campaign of words is going to hurt him more than that!!
What a light weight.

The thing I like about Obama's ads are there true. Mccains ads are misleading and when he approves ads like that it becomes desperate. Actually republicans are desperate to win this election. I just don't believe American people will let republicans lies and sillyness win them over. If Mccain wins than we will get exactly what we deserve. I think Mccain would be a complete disaster and if he wins god help us all.
Posted by: Craig | August 21, 2008 4:04 AM
I don't think republicans understand that Americans are really afraid of a Mccains presidency. Mccain is a war monger, he admitted he doesn't understand economics. He has atleast 100 lies and flip flops on youtube on every issue so what do you really expect from a Mccain presidency. The man was exposed, revealed and if Americans are to stupid to see what a liar, cheat and thief Mccain is than they will get exactly what Mccain's been trying to hide throughout this election. Nothing.
