'Grey's Addiction
*It's addiction week on "Grey's Anatomy" but not in a fun can't-stop- eating-cookie-dough way, but in a dreary "the hardest part of kicking a habit is wanting to kick it" lecture-from-Voiceover-Meredith way.
This week's guest patients at Horny Hospital are Meth Lab Dad and Meth Lab Mom and their Meth Addict Baby, their Kindly Old Neighbor, and their Meth Addict House Guest.
Meth-lab Dad is really a nice guy but resorted to making meth in the kitchen to make money after losing his job. Okay, that's one way to handle unemployment -- we also hear Starbucks is hiring.
The Meth Lab Family and friends turn up at HH when a batch of stuff blows up, leaving Meth Lab Mom with a gaping hole where her abdomen used to be, Kindly Old Neighbor badly burned, and Meth Lab House Guest with internal bleeding and the DT's; Meth Lab Baby isn't too badly injured in the blast, but has the DT's too and suffers a stroke. Meth Lab Dad survived the blast with just a few scratches -- the rotter.
Meredith and McDreamy, meanwhile, are clearly addicted to breaking up and making up and have become very talented at it. This week, after break-up sex, they've decided to base their relationship on sex and mockery -- the mockery bit making no sense, except that it lets them shorten the latest iteration of their relationship to "S&M." cute, huh?
Alex is addicted to messing things up -- this week by confronting Meth Lab Dad before social services has Meth Addict Baby in its hands, causing MLD to steal his child from the hospital bed.
Izzie is addicted to making those around her miserable -- most recently her BFF George with whom she thinks she is in love -- and urging them to do terrible, unscrupulous things, like telling George not to tell his wife he's over her because she, Callie, is Izzie's boss and that would make things uncomfortable for Izzie.
George is addicted to shagging an impressive array of women, all things considered.
Speaking of addicts, Diahann Carroll returns for one last gasp as Dr. Burke's Mama; she sits in the Horny Hospital waiting room, and pretty much everyone comes and kisses the ring and suffers her know-it-all-isms:
"Were you being inappropriate or were you being selfish" she sniffs at Meredith, in re Mer's "It's so over" speech at Christina's aborted wedding to her son, McHomophobe.
Yeah, if she's so smart, how come she doesn't know sonny is now over at NBC's "Bionic Woman" working in the lab?
"An honorable man knows when to walk away," Mother Burke lectures McDreamy later in the show, allegedly in re her own son walking out on Christina, but you and I know it's really about McDreamy and Mer's S&M, because we've come to know all of show creator Shonda Rhime's Bag of Metaphors in the course of the show's three seasons.
Does that make us addicts?

I hate this show.
There, happy?

The show is a mess. It looks like it is the result of negotiations with all of the agents of all of the 'stars' fighting over the body of Isaiah Washington.
Everybody has their own little "acting" vignette. There is no main plot, just a bunch of sub-plots stitched together by a theme (and Meredith's narration).
Some character changes are for the good. Christina is back where should be: a medical machine chopping up all in her path.
Some are bad: Eric Dane (McSteamy to you) is much better as a slightly sardonic wise-guy. That wicked smile of his made him in X-Men 3 and last year on Grey's.
The rest of the cast's characters have wimped out. Where is the Nazi's fire? The Chief's lordly manner? Is George going to a heterosexual or what? And what's with Karev? He went from a bad-boy to a compassionate med-boy. Want him to be this way, fine make him a superstar kid doctor, fulfilling his destiny as set force by Addison.
Patrick Dempsey looks like he his holding back waiting for everything to settle down so his character can outact the rest.
I know I missed Callie and Izzie, but they are both too precious and starry-eyed for words.
What this gang does not need is a crisis of the week. that is ER's territory. they need to compete as doctors grabbing off glory and pieces of one another. That is the charem of the series. And yes, Meredith looks like a grandmother next to her sister. Separate them immediately.
I'm going to continue to watch it to see if Shondra can fix if. if not, well it was fun while it lasted.
The meth plot was lame.

This show is so bad. I've never understood how anyone can get so caught up in it's poor writing and lazy acting. At least Dallas and Dynasty had some real scene-chewers in their cast and the plots were so cheesy, you couldn't help but laugh. These whiney little brats playing doctor don't even measure up to the current lame characters on E.R.!
I've had my friends tell me it's really a love story, but if this is love, I think I have had about enough "love" with these emotional cripples. All of them deserve to be shipped off to Dr. Phil's house for some tough love. And, Meredith, sweetie. Eat a sandwich, for G-d's sake!

I've now tried twice to watch the show. I can't stand this George any longer, this is acting? After Sunday, I'm done it's no longer working at all.

I stopped watching after season 1. I enjoy reading the critics trash it more than I enjoy watching it.

My mind is like a void, not that it matters. I've more or less been doing nothing to speak of. I've just been sitting around not getting anything done, but so it goes. Not much on my mind worth mentioning. I've just been letting everything happen without me lately, but it's not important. diamond I haven't been up to anything lately. I've just been letting everything wash over me recently. My life's been generally boring lately.
