'Office': Take a Chance on Andy
The Office: Episode Three -- Dwight vs. the Machine.
And, God bless 'em, Dwight proved superior to the brand spankin' new Dunder Mifflin Web site when it came to paper sales. Final score: Dwight 1270 reams, web site 1218 reams.
Of course it didn't hurt that Dwight had access to those illegal paper sales leads that he stole from his last job at Staples (a clever homage to "Glengarry Glen Ross," don't you think?).
Alas, it was another hour-long "Office" that should have been a half-hour, But, geez, it did start with a laugh-out loud moment when poor Meredith returned in her crotch cast -- and asked Jim to sign it.
Jim and Pam continue to be in love (blech!) but they get a pass this week with their prank on Dwight who was convinced that the machines were talking to him.
Ryan is become the show's villain while Andy is starting to become, um, charming. Anyone else moved by his version of Abba's "Take a Chance on Me" to Angela, harmonizing with his singing buddies via speaker -- phone?
Michael keeping the pizza delivery boy hostage in the conference room was a good gag and I love the fact that Dwight recognized him as the kid who steals hemp from his farm (the same hemp that the delivery boy described as "really crappy weed").
Creed usually has the best line of the night but he was eerily quiet. So the honor goes to Kevin with this zinger about the terrible Pizza by Alfredo that was delivered to the office: "It's like eating a hot circle of garbage."
Yes, a sub-par episode but it's quips like that keep us coming back to the "Office" each week.
