'Grey's': Tatts to Tragedy, Can You See It Coming?

Erupting arteries, crashing ambulances, computer failure, swastikas, needles in a brain, patients clinging to life while hanging upside down, the end of Gizzie, some guy with children and a wife -- how's a girl supposed to keep track with so much going on in Part 2 of a blood-soaked "Grey's Anatomy" two-parter which, I'm sure with the best of intentions, ABC aired over three weeks?

Dr. Bailey saves the life of Hot Nazi Guy played by -- Saw It Coming From a Mile Off -- Gale Harold, star of "Queer As Folk." That's ironic casting.

Bailey decides that after "rising" above it in re-operating on a white supremacist, she needs to -- Also Saw It Coming From a Mile Off -- breach medical ethics and take a slice out of the swastika tattoo on his abdomen.

And speaking of seeing it coming from a mile off: You just knew when Bailey's Kind-of-a-Jerk Husband complained in Part 1 that she's married to her job, that in Part 2 her surgery on Hot Nazi Guy would make her very late for her lunch date with Jerk Husband and he'd send her a message, via George, that their marriage was over.

Later, in the recovery room, George, the repeat intern, tells Hot Nazi Guy he would have killed him on the operating table based on the guy's repugnant beliefs. Because doctors have the option of killing patients based on whether they're appealing human beings.

And, speaking of seeing it coming, did anyone not know when we saw that Cute Nurse Rose sass McDreamy a few episodes back that they'd wind up kissing? And that, immediately thereafter, Meredith, having learned a lesson about loneliness from Hanging Upside Down Man, would flounce up to McDreamy and tell him she didn't want him to date anyone but her and then walk happily away, leaving McDreamy cursing the lousy timing that is TV drama?

I don't think we've seen the last of Cute Nurse Rose. Oh wait, there's a Hollywood writers strike on -- we have seen the last of her. At least for a couple months, maybe longer.

Meredith Lite, meanwhile, finally meets a nice guy who adores her, played by guest star Seth Green, so naturally his neck artery explodes, shooting gallons of blood all over Meredith Lite. And, because Bailey is running late reconfiguring Hot Nazi's swastika, and McDreamy and Cute Nurse Rose are running late making eyes at each other over a broken computer next to the woman with the needles in her brain, and because the guy with the kids has a heart graft that fails and Dr. Hahn is freaking out, there's no O.R. available in which to save Seth Green's life. And so he dies, leaving Meredith Lite feeling all alone and sad, which can only be remedied by dancing in Meredith's house with Meredith and Cristina. Gotta say, didn't see that coming.

Meanwhile, Alex gets busted for sneaking Ava into the observation deck and distracting him during surgery, so they have sex. And Gizzie decide their chemistry is fine, but their timing that's off, so they don't' have sex, but instead join Meredith Lite, Meredith and Cristina in their dance.

Anyone else curious why there was no drama about Alex and Ava having sex in the next room while Meredith Lite who he is also screwing is dancing in the next room with his roomates?

Meredith should not be allowed to dance. It is painful to watch.

it's fun to watch because it is painful.

The whole show is painful... and getting worse every week.

When George said swastika guy would have been dead if George had done the operation, I thought he meant because Bailey was a better doctor, and George is barely scraping by as a 2nd time around intern. I didn't think he was implying he'd off him on the table.

I agree with writergirl. I thought george meant he wasn't skilled enough to save the guy's life and Bailey was more talented. But alex and ava's sex was so random after his scathing (but truthful) remarks. Him telling her the truth about herself seemed like it would kill the mood.

George was making the point that the supremacist was better off with Bailey who is a member of a group to whom the supremacist feels superior, because George, who was his only other option, is actually inferior to Bailey in terms of his medical arts skills, despite what the supremacist might believe. Yes, DS and Writergirl are correct.

How is it that I just found out about this blog? It's great. I like the show, but love the sarcasm written in this blog that points out all the flaws that the show does have. Awesome!
