GMU tuition rises 8 percent

George Mason University has increased tuition and fees for the 2010-11 academic year 8.2 percent, bringing the total cost to $8,686 for resident students.

Tuition and fees for nonresidents is up 6 percent to $24,500.

We have been tracking increases from 7 to 8 percent all the way up to 24 percent among budget-starved Virginia public colleges. This one is actually on the low end.
