UMB inaugurates new president
The University of Maryland, Baltimore inaugurated Jay Perman as its sixth president Tuesday morning in a ceremony at Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre.
Perman was appointed president of the oldest University System of Maryland campus July 11. He previously chaired the department of pediatrics at the university's medical school, then served as dean and vice president for clinical affairs at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
The Baltimore campus houses nationally ranked graduate programs in health, law and human services.
