The Morning Line: One Story for the Price of Two

Somedays, "Mark Trail" and "Judge Parker" seem like similar strips. Except for today, that is, when they are the EXACT same strip.

Compare and contrast, side by side. So much alike, and not just because Mark Trail and "JP's" Sam Driver -- rugged, thirtysomething men with slick, dark hair and a full closet of khaki cargo shirts -- look like twins sons of different mothers.

Today, both Women of Interest are inviting our jaunty, cartoon-chaste heroes to hang out and bask in their swell and sultry company, if only for purely professional reasons, you understand. All on the up and up, wink-wink. Both women are making their respective agenda PERFECTLY CLEAR.

Doth they protest too much?

We can only hope these parallel storylines continue in this delicious direction. If so, the only significant difference will be that: In "Judge Parker," the suspicious characters die. In "Mark Trail," it's only entire ecosystems that go toes-up.

Another difference:

in MT we can expect to see a dog fight.

in JP we can expect to see a cat fight.

I find the artwork in JP to be better when it comes to drawing humans; (kudos to MT for it's ginormous animals, tho). However, I think the sunglasses depicted are just, well, odd.

BTW, JP far more likely, it seems to me, for the artist to spin out of control with a truly racy storyline and get not just censored, but banned.

No real danger of that in MT.

With any luck, the upcoming raccoon-vs-dog fight that has been advertised in the Wetlands Post Office in MT will feature Sneaky from MT versus Snowflake from JP.
