The E-Mailbag: Hamm vs. Colbert in a 'Mark Trail' Showdown
In recent days, Comic Riffs asked you, the keen-eyed reader, who should be cast in the lead role when "Mark Trail" -- in a perfect world -- is finally made into a movie.

Jon Hamm or Stephen Colbert? Vote for your Mark Trail below ...
You voted, and your two finalists for the gig were AMC's slick retro-stylish star Jon Hamm of "Mad Men" and Comedy Central's slick spoof-stylish star Stephen Colbert. So today, my friends, comes the face-off -- what we'll call "Mark Trail: Showdown at the A-List Corral."
It's time to pick the right actor for the job. Comic Riffs promises to forward the winner's name to the guys behind "Mark Trail" and, if they don't get excited, 'Riffs will alert AMC or Comedy Central -- just to test whether Hamm and Colbert are still down to earth and "of the people" or whether they've gone all David Hasselhoff on us.

Hamm vs. Colbert: Let the "threat down" between these "mad men" begin. (NAS)
Good luck, and may the better man win a mammoth jar of pomade.
And, as long as we're casting soapy serial comics, one smart 'Riffs commenter said the leads in the current "Judge Parker" story line -- Sam Driver and Dixie Julep/Kathy Patterson -- should be portrayed by the once-blissful, forever-spatting Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger.

Paging Kathy Patterson, if that IS your real name. (NAS)
So before Dixie/Kathy disappears forever from our comic-reading lives in the days or weeks ahead (just how long will a femme fatale be allowed to brandish a gun, even in a glacially paced comic?), 'Riffs invite your nominations: Which real-life actress would best play Dixie? Charlize Theron? Elizabeth Banks? Bridget Fonda or Famke Janssen?
You make the call.

Well played, Mrhode, well played.
Baldwin / Bassinger became too annoying. We can't reward them with plum roles like this.
May I suggest Josie Davis from 10 years ago for the role of Dixie. Google image search, do your thing....

Judge Parker isn't glacially paced. You're just expecting too much from 3 panels a day. Admire the artwork and flow with the story. Ommm.
