Call for Entries: "Eat My (Animated) Shorts!"
The Fox network couldn't have picked a better online street-corner to do business.
Here at Comic Riffs, we've long been fans of Aniboom, the online animation studio that routinely features stellar work. (Just the other day, 'Riffs featured the swell Aniboom short "Our Wonderful Nature.") Well this week, Fox announces that the network and Aniboom will join efforts for a Holiday Animation Challenge.
The Fox network -- a.k.a. The House That Homer Simpson Built -- has long been a great Friend to Animation, including to Mike "King of the Hill" Judge and Seth "Nearly Everything Else Now On" McFarlane. But the network says it's not easy to find that next "classic" holiday animated special in the vein of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" or, well, "A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas.' "
So from May 27 to Aug. 31, animated submissions -- two to four minutes in length -- will be accepted by Fox/Aniboom. So if you've got animation skills -- go to it. (Here's aniboom's link for the full rules.)
Meantime: "Wonderful Nature" is one of my faves of recent vintage, and Comic Riffs is curious: What is your favorite online animated short? 'Riffs invites your links.
Oh, and here's Fox/Aniboom's video about the contest:
