Best of the Sunday Funnies: We Pick 'Em

By Michael Cavna

A deftly drawn monster in "Prince Valiant." A big warm-and-fuzzy in "Mutts." And fun at Manny Ramirez's (female-fertililty) expense in "Tank McNamara." All in all, a pretty fair week for the Sunday Funnies. That said, Comic Riffs' Top Three Spots this week have to go to:

3. PICKLES -- You can almost see the punchline's direction, and yet it still builds -- and delivers -- rather perfectly. The humor is utterly, well, Earl.

2. GET FUZZY -- First three panels alone make the strip worth the price of admission.

And my top 'toon for the day:

1. PEARLS BEFORE SWINE -- Stephan Pastis is a sick, sick man. And so many readers love 'im for it. What a farce, indeed.

What's your choice for Sunday Funny of the week? 'Riffs invites your picks.

Get Fuzzy, hands down. Every panel was funny.

Pearls should be farce, uh I meant first! - those God Awful puns (and Rat's reaction) made me laugh out loud and spit hot tea through my nose. One of these days I will learn nt to drink will reading Pearls.

Today's GET FUZZY was the funniest strip I have read in 20 years.

Get Fuzzy. A great reminder that when he is on, he Conley is wonderful. Funny standing alone, but also using the true nature of the characters.

Judge Parker, Barreto draws some funny eye rolls at what Rocky is saying to his wife, Godiva. Plus Wilson's dialogue is pretty humorous. " in horses". Uh, yeah, ummm, horses, now go call the limo.

ok Get Fuzzy should get a prize for the funniest comic of the year (so far). I laughed out loud and then re-read it about 5 times, laughing each time.
