The Buzz Is Back: 'Toy Story 3' Trailer Toys With Our Expectations
With "Up" ruling the box office over the weekend, Pixar/Disney has been savvy enough to begin ratcheting up awareness of its next film, "Toy Story 3," which is still a full 12 months away from landing at your local multiplex.
Still, the mere sight of Woody and Jesse and Buzz and friends gearing back up for a new adventure (all thanks to a maturing Andy) is heartening. And a full 12 months away, there's not a single picture I have higher expectations for -- only 2010's "Iron Man 2" comes remotely close.
So in case you haven't seen it -- or even if you have -- here's the teaser trailer for "TS3."
(Also worth noting: If you've seen "Up," then you've glimpsed a new, never-before-seen "Toy Story 3" character that appears in a little girl's bedroom as the house flies by. MTV has said it is visible at the 1:04 mark of THIS "Up" trailer:)
And while we're talking "Up," the weekend's Comic Riffs Pixar Poll made two things especially clear: 1) "The Incredibles" and "Wall+E" are particularly popular; and 2) "A Bug's Life" is -- relatively to others in the Pixar vault -- startingly UNpopular.
And while we're still talking "Up": The movie's imagery is fertile iconography for editorial cartoonists to co-opt. One of the more striking we've seen is this, from Randy Bish of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
