Holiday helpings: Turkey Day cartoons we can be thankful for
Today, we will pass on mixing ACORN jokes with our chestnuts and stuffing. We will not stoop to gags about doomed turkeys wanting better "health care." And it won't be a day to trot out cheap one-liners about whether Sarah Palin or Joe Biden would do a better job of field-dressing your Thanksgiving's wild game..
The way we figure it, if even Native Americans and new immigrants in large buckled hats speaking a foreign tongue could put aside their politics for a day, so can we. Except, of course, the politics of how best to show outright gratitude and fellowship.
Today, Comic Riffs simply offers this demi-gallery of tangentially topical cartoons. And wishes you a very Happy Thanksgiving. Cheers.

Comic Riffs is a blog devoted to the comics fan. Come in, sit down and put your feet up as we celebrate, contemplate, eviscerate and pontificate on cartoons.

Mike Luckovich is the best cartoonist in his field, hands down. His drawings are spot on, he approaches the story of each cartoon from a more clever angle than everyone else, and he's flat out funny.
