'MOSQUE NEAR GROUND ZERO': The Eight Most Eye-Catching Cartoons this week... [UPDATED]
In recent pages of The Post, everyone from Charles Krauthammer to Gene Robinson to Michael Gerson to Kathleen Parker has naturally had a say on the Islamic-Community-Center-near-Ground-Zero controversy.
Meantime, Comic Riffs has waited for the nation's political cartoonists to really deliver on the issue -- to really nail it, whatever their stance. Today, having scoured scores of editorial illustrations, we let the cartoonists have their say in this space.
So here they are: the Eight "Ground Zero" Cartoons that most catch our eye...

Freedom Of Religion Also Infers Freedom From Religion.

Americans are very stupid, naive people.
It doesn't really matter whether or not the mosque goes up; this is the least of your problems -- the real problem is that America is being conquered by Islam in a bloodless coup and most people are either too PC or too cowardly to stop it or even to care that it is happening.
Between the recent natural disasters and the oil-company generated ones and the intentions of Islam, we are now seeing the fall of America.

Freedom of religion (meaning "choice") includes the option of "freedom from religion" (atheism), but it does not necessarily imply it, and it most certainly does not "infer" it.

Your choice of cartoons pretty much nailed the issue, for any person of good will. The rest of them? Let them eat cake.

Regardless of the politics ... I like the idea of expanding the concepts of the comic section like the WP is doing. I live in Northern California and read the comics from WP. I think Michael Cavna is doing a great job in providing value added to a seemingly simple aspect of the news ... that is the comic side of life.

Poor teabaggers.
So trusting.
So naive.
