If you can't get enough 'SCOTT PILGRIM': Animated short comes to TV next week
When it comes to "Pilgrim's" progress, Bryan O'Malley's boyfriend fighter is punching his way onto yet another platform.
The highly anticipated Edgar Wright film starring Michael Cera opens Aug. 13, as if you didn't know. And the marketing assault also includes the "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" videogame, natch (now with new "zombie mode!"). And then there are simply all those "SP" toys, which seem to be multiplying like Tribbles.
Now word comes that on the night of Aug. 12, Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup will carve out a block for the animated short "Scott Pilgrim vs. the Animation." That's right, O'Malley's characters will finally be seen in cartoon motion, featuring another character -- Lisa Miller -- who is "not in the movie."
The animation, from Titmouse Inc., will feature the voices of the film's actors, including Mae Whitman as the voice of Lisa. O'Malley's style, thankfully, remains largely intact.
Here's a teaser clip of the animation, as well as more featured footage:
